WWE BRINGING HELL IN A CELL TO SAUDI ARABIA

By Mike Johnson on 2021-10-09 01:14:00

Edge vs. Seth Rollins inside Hell In A Cell has been announced for the 10/21 WWE Crown Jewel 2021 PPV in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia after Edge challenged Rollins to the bout during last night's Friday Night Smackdown.

This will be the first time Hell in A Cell has been presented outside of North America.  There have been 48 Hell In A Cell matches in the United States and one held in Canada.  Edge vs. Rollins will officially be the 50th Hell in A Cell match in WWE history with the first held in October 1997, featuring Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker in a bout that featured the debut of Kane.

This HIAC bout would break the tie between the two as Edge defeated Rollins at Summerslam but Rollins defeated Edge and forced him to be stretchered out of the ring last month at WWE's return to Madison Square Garden for Friday Night Smackdown.

Previously announced for Crown Jewel:

*WWE Champion Big E vs. Drew McIntyre.

*WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar with Paul Heyman stuck in the middle.

*WWE Smackdown Women's Champion Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair vs. Sasha Banks in a Triple Threat Match.

*WWE Raw Tag Team Champions RK-Bro vs. AJ Styles & Omos.

*Bill Goldberg vs. Bobby Lashley.

WWE has run five events thus far in Saudi Arabia as part of a ten year pact between the company and the Saudi General Sports Authority.

WWE is slated to hold a live Friday Night Smackdown on FOX on Friday 10/22 in Wichita, Kansas.  Wichita would be an 18 hour flight from Riyadh.
