DANIEL BRYAN-WWE NOTE, SEGMENT PULLED FROM SMACKDOWN, WWE TRYOUT, HALL OF FAMER SITS DOWN WITH STEVE AUSTIN AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2021-05-08 11:00:00

In regard to Daniel Bryan's status, there has been zero edict within WWE warning talents or employees not to mention Daniel Bryan on WWE programming.  He was mentioned on this week's edition of The Bump as well as the After the Bell podcast, which featured speculation as to whether Bryan could appear outside of WWE.  If WWE was looking to distance themselves from Bryan after his bout against Roman Reigns and removing him internally from their roster, they are not actively doing so compared to say, CM Punk leaving and there being a lockdown on any mention of his name years ago.

Jimmy Uso officially returned to the Smackdown roster last night, joining Jey alongside Roman Reigns.  He is cleared to return to action we are told.

Last night's Friday Night Smackdown was scheduled to feature the latest Aleister Black vignette but we are told it was pulled at the last minute due to the show running long in some of the early segments.

Teddy Long's appearance last night was just scheduled as a one-off appearance but everyone loved having him there.

WWE Hall of Famer Charles "The Godfather" Wright recently filmed an episode of Broken Skull Sessions with Steve Austin.

WWE held a tryout for female talents this past week at the WWE Performance Center.  There were a number of potential talents from outside the business.  The only independent wrestling names we have confirmed as of this writing are Ava Everett from the Northeast and Florida talent Tesha Price, who has appeared on AEW Dark.

Added to the WWE Performance Center website roster are Anthony Henry, Bronson Rechsteiner, Camron Clay, Chance Barrow, Christian Bringham, Christian Hubble, Cora Jade, Frank Monet, Gigi Dolin, Jennifer Catu Iglesias, Joe Ariola, Karissa Rivera, Matrick Belton, Parker Bordeaux, Sajana George, Taylor Grado, Zoey Stark and Zaya Ramier.

Announced for next week's Smackdown is WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax vs. Natalya & Tamina.
