CAGE OF DEATH RETRO: LOOKING BACK AT CZW'S BIGGEST SHOW OF THE YEAR

Combat Zone Wrestling presented its Seventh Annual Cage of Death event at the ECW Arena in Philadelphia, PA on Saturday 12/10. Here are the quick results of the show with a live report following on Monday:

*Cheech pinned Cloudy with a superbomb in an excellent opener. Cloudy hit a Canadian Destroyer at one point while both were outside the ring on the apron.

*Mike Quackenbush & Jigsaw & Shane Storm defeated Hallowicked & Icarus & Grand Akuma in a good Lucha style tag.

*CZW Tag Team champions Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli cut a promo saying that Eddie Kingston won’t be there since he’s in rehab so they don’t have to defend the titles tonight. Kingston hits the ring and runs them off, cutting a promo.

*DJ Hyde pinned Jon Dahmer.

*Larry Sweeney & Frankie the Mobster defeated Excalibur & Beef Wellington.

*Pro Wrestling Guerrilla champion Joey Ryan pinned El Generico.

*Adam Flash & Sonjay Dutt defeated Nate Webb & Sexxy Eddy

*Several of the CZW babyfaces came out for a ten bell in memory of Eddie Guerrero. One fan yelled out “F*** this” and was ejected after it nearly became an ugly scene. The CZW workers also presented a check for $1,700 to the family of Chris Cash, who sat ringside at the show.

*CZW Junior Heavyweight champion Derek Fraizer defeated Niles Young in a Best of Three Falls TLC Match.

*CZW Tag Team champions Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli defeated Eddie Kingston and Sabian. Hero cut a promo about ROH running the same date as CZW next month (the companies are doing a double header) and challenged ROH champion Bryan Danielson.

*CZW Ironman Champion Kevin Steen pinned Chris Sabin.

*Super Dragon pinned Ruckus to win the CZW championship.

*In the Cage of Death, Zandig & Nick Gage & Justice Pain defeated Joker & Toby Klein & Necro Butcher. The COD features a six sided structure that surrounded most of ringside and was covered in barbed wire on the top. There was a barbed wire spider web on one side of the ring and a glass pane above a table on the other. The match also featured thumbtacks in the turnbucles, barbed wire wrapped around one corner, two platforms above the ring and weapons hanging underneath including a barbed wire bat, a Staple Gun, and a chain. The finish saw John Zandig hit a Falcon’s Arrow off a platform into the ring through tables lit on fire in a sick finish.
