Beyond Wrestling “Two Weeks Notice”?Atlantic City, NJ - 7/26/2020

Two weeks ago, Beyond owner Denver Colorado (the man, not the place) showed up at GCW’s Backyard Wrestling 2 and talked a lot of smack against the gimmicky social content-focused indie wrestlers that have been dominating the scene lately. Allie Kat answered his remarks and took him apart in a surprise contest, his second of 2020 (or really second in the last 5+ years). On the heels of this, Beyond is suddenly running a show on GCW’s Homecoming weekend on….TWO WEEKS NOTICE.

Pre-Show:

- SLADE def. Benjamin Carter

Main Card:

- Allie Kat def Max Caster (w/ Bryce Donovan, Bobby Orlando and Bobby Jr) - WARHORSE and Effy ran in to even the odds at one point.

- Injustice (Myron Reed & Jordan Oliver) def Bear Country (Bear Bronson & Bear Boulder).  Oliver cuts off the elevator drop with a cutter and Reed hits a springboard 450 on Bronson for the surprise win. Good finish!

- Wheeler Yuta def. Lee Moriarty.

 Willow Nightingale def. Pinkie Sanchez.

- Christian Casanova def. Blake Christian.

- Tony Deppen, Nick Gage & Chris Dickinson def. Second Gear Crew (Mance Warner, Manders, Matthew Justice)

- WARHOSE retains the IWTV Championship against GCW Champion Ricky Shane Page by DQ.  Allie Kat & Effy ran interference when OH44 started to cause chaos. WARHORSE had the pin on a flying elbow drop but Gregory Iron pulled the replacement ref out. RSP attacked the ref, prompting the DQ. WARHORSE is now officially the longest reigning IWTV champion at 309 days(finally surpassing the mark set by Hot Sauce Tracy Williams)...not the way he probably wanted to hit that mark but that’ll do, horse. That’ll do.

So…I wish I could offer more of my usual descriptive content than this but the stream was KINDA CURSED for me today. IWTV was down for the first 20-ish minutes of the show, coming on about mid-way through the Injustice/Bear Country match. Then my own house’s power/internet died shortly after (from about mid-way through Casanova/Moriarty until halfway into WARHORSE/RSP). Also noticed some twitter updates from Beyond saying that the direct sunlight was playing havoc with the batteries in the ringside cameras. The brief bit of show I got to see was good to watch and the general Twitter vibe I’ve seen has felt pretty positive overall. I’ll be sure to check out the VOD version once the stars align to allow it.

Massive thanks to @thewrestlebrook, @ThePrincessRAM & @zackjewell for giving me updates through the afternoon...and of course, good luck to WARHORSE on Wednesday when he challenges Cody for the AEW TNT Championship!
