IMPACT WRESTLING TV TAPING NEWS & NOTES

By Mike Johnson on 2020-04-07 17:47:00

As noted earlier today, Impact Wrestling will be filming future episodes of Impact on AXS and other content this week in Nashville, TN.

A number of readers have asked how Impact could produce TV.  Based on the Executive Order issued by the Governor of Tennessee several weeks ago, there is nothing that would  prevent Impact from running taping behind closed doors, as they are doing.  There is no official shut-down order for the State, although the Governor has strongly encouraged that members of the public do so. Impact is using a professional studio for their taping, not a venue that would ever be accessible to the general public, so they would not fall under a current order that has closed the usual type of clubs and venues professional wrestling would run in.

The Executive Order also specifically notes that material being created for media, including Television, would be exempt from the order.  Impact Wrestling's TV Tapings would fall legally under that umbrella, since they are being shot on a closed set.

PWInsider.com are told that those involved in the tapings are doing so voluntarily and similar to how WWE and AEW have handled tapings, there is a medical unit set up for talents and staff to undergo testing including having their temperature taken before they are allowed on set.  The company is utilizing social distancing at all times with the exception of filmed material where talents have to physically interact.

We are also told that Impact built their guidelines for how they would handle the tapings utilizing all CDC suggested guidelines for the tapings as well as the Department of Homeland Security’s Guidance on the Essential Critical Infrastructure Workforce: Ensuring Community and National Resilience in COVID-19 Response.
