WWE WRITING SHUFFLE

By Mike Johnson on 2019-09-05 09:51:00

Lead WWE Smackdown writer Ryan Ward has taken a leave of absence from the company after getting married, PWInsider.com can confirm.  Ward's leave officially began yesterday.

With Ward's hiatus, Ed Koskey has been moved to the lead Smackdown writing position.  We are told Koskey was moved to that brand to work with Smackdown Executive Director Eric Bischoff as the two have worked together in the past when Bischoff was with the company as a talent.  Koskey, Vice President of Creative Writing for the company, has been with WWE since 2001.

Jonathan Baeckstrom, who had been heavily involved with 205 Live until recently when he was shifted over to the Raw brand, will be the new lead Raw writer under Executive Director Paul Heyman.    He's been a Lead Writer for the company since November 2016 and has been with WWE since August 2013.

The news of the writing changes were first reported by Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer overnight.
