YOU WILL NEVER GUESS WHO JUST SHOWED UP, AN INSANE CAR WRECK OF A LADDER MATCH, TROUBLE IN PARADISE?, STYLES AND ROLLINS CLASH, & TONS MORE: COMPLETE WWE MONEY IN THE BANK BLOG

By Mike Johnson on 2019-05-19 18:53:00

Time for the WWE Championship match so the Money in the Bank Men's match will close the show.

The WWE Network completely crashed for me (for the first time I can remember in years) during the ring entrances.  I had to reboot my roku to get it working again.

When it returned, Owens was working over Kofi on the floor.  They returned to the ring with Kofi fighting from behind.  Owens cut him off and locked in a Boston Crab but Kofi made it to the ropes.  Kingston regained control and came off the top but Owens, on the floor, nailed a superkick as Kingston was executing a twisting dive.  They went into a nice series of moves that ended with Kingston nailing a STO for a two count.

Owens went back to the submissions but Kingston again made it to the ropes.  Kingston blocked Owens going for a kick and began beating him with punches on the mat.  Owens nailed a power-bomb for a two count.  Owens did a great job interacting with fans, venting at them when he couldn't score the three count.  They went back and forth.  Owens missed a back senton splash and was nailed with Trouble in Paradise for the pin.

Kofi retains.

I only saw some of this, but what I saw was a good, solid match.

Xavier came to the ring to celebrate with Kofi after the match.  No Big E

Time for the Money in the Bank match!

No replacement for Sami.

Everyone brawls.  Orton smashed Balor into a table several times, then did the same to Ricochet.  The crowd chanted for Orton as he set up a ladder in the ring.

Ali, Andrade and Ricochet were all doing big dives and taking big bumps.

Corbin and McIntyre started controlling the ring, sending Ali and Ricochet rudely into ladders set up in the corners.  They then teamed out to take out Orton as Balor recovered and returned to the ring.  Balor struck Drew in the small of the back with a ladder and ascended to the top, but Andrade smashed him with another ladder to prevent Balor from getting the briefcase.

Andrade and Balor battled atop with Andrade hitting a sunset flip powerbomb off the top of the ladder down onto another that was bridged from the ladder they were on to the ropes.  Balor took an INSANE bouncing bump off the ladder.  It was the most insane thing on the show thus far.

Ali hit a reverse rana that was so insane, it made me wish WWE would ban the move.

The insanity continued with Ali hitting a Spanish Fly off the ladders on Andrade.  Michael Cole asked what is wrong with these guys.  I wish I knew!  There are a ton of talents taking crazy risks tonight and I hope WWE treats it like a big moment tomorrow on Raw so this makes them bigger stars like they did 20 years ago with the Hardys, Edge and Christian, as opposed to letting this effort be forgotten in a week.

Drew bridged a table from the ring to an announcing table.  Ali was chokeslammed through a table by Corbin.  The crowd chanted that he still sucked.  Corbin attacked Drew, which made sense given what they had set up on TV (and forgotten this entire match, until now).    Corbin them wiped out Ricochet on the floor and Balor in the ring.  McIntyre returned with a Claymore Kick on Baron to end the sequence.  Good stuff.

Back in the ring, Drew destroyed everyone.  This thing is absilutely nuts.  Ricochet was flung over the top through a ladder that was bridged outside, breaking it in half.  This is NUTS.

Ali had a clear win and was climbing to the top when BROCK LESNAR'S music hit and out he ran with Paul Heyman.  Brock tipped the ladder over, sending Ali crashing.  Lesnar climbed to the top and took the briefcase.

Lesnar was the one who attacked Sami and is now the MITB winner.  That's a hell of a swerve.

A really great main event.
