WWE issued a statement this afternoon announcing that performer Lars Sullivan has been fined $100,000 for past racist and homophobic remarks made on an internet message board in the years before he was signed to a WWE contract.  WWE's statement reads:

WWE supports a culture of inclusion regardless of gender, race, religion or sexual orientation, and we are committed to embracing all individuals as demonstrated by the diversity of our employees, performers and fans worldwide.

Dylan Miley (aka Lars Sullivan) will be fined $100,000 and required to complete sensitivity training for offensive commentary uncovered from his past. WWE will also facilitate meetings for Dylan with community organizations to foster further discussion around the power of social media and the impact of your words.

Sullivan issued an apology on 5/10, after Internet users uncovered his past racist and homophobic comments, which were posted by Sullivan on Bodybuilding.com's message board between 2003-2007, .   The comments attributed to Sullivan first began popping up last year when promotional videos hyping his WWE main roster debut began airing and are extremely vile in nature, which is why we are not reprinting them here  (there is a link earlier in this paragraph for those of you who wish to read them)., including degrading comments about current WWE talents that Sullivan now works alongside.

WWE stars Kalisto and Big E, recently responded to fan queries about the comments.

Last week, when asked on Twitter if he was aware, of the issue Big E commented, "Many are aware. If true, he has to bear the albatross of being a bigot & working in a company that is now filled with minorities."

Kalisto responded to the situation, writing:

He just needs to get out of my way....I’m Latino....???????? https://t.co/HLIZ6jqLrt

A number of online LGBTQ outlets began picking up the story in the days leading to Sullivan's apology.

Until Sullivan's statement, there was no actual confirmation that he had made the remarks,.  That changed with his apology last week, which reads, “There is no excuse for the inappropriate remarks that I made years ago. They do not reflect my personal beliefs nor who I am today, and I apologize to anyone I offended.”

Sullivan, who was originally trained by Bobby Lashley, signed with WWE in 2013.  He made his official main roster debut the night after Wrestlemania 35 and has received a strong push on both Raw and Smackdown in recent weeks.  He has been working the current European tour.
