NEW CHAMPIONS CROWNED, TESSA VS. GAIL AND MORE: COMPLETE IMPACT WRESTLING REBELLION PPV COVERAGE

By Mike Johnson on 2019-04-28 20:15:00

Welcome to PWInsider.com's live, ongoing coverage of Impact Wrestling's Rebellion PPV from Toronto, Ontario at the Rebel Complex!

Your announcers are Josh Mathews and Don Callis.

Petey Williams vs. Cousin Jake vs. Eddie Edwards vs. Ace Austin vs. Aiden Prince vs. Jake Crist.

This is a Scramble PPV, so first pinfall wins.

Everyone battled.  They built to a dive spot where Austin went for a dive but as he came over the top on everyone, Jake Crist nailed him with a Cutter as he came down.  Williams went for a Sharpshooter on Eddie Edwards but Cousin Jake broke it up and slammed Williams for a two count.

Crist went for a dive but Austin kicked him as he hit the ropes.  Austin nailed a kick on Crist, who was on the top but went for another, only to be cut off and nailed with a cutter.  All spots so far with the idea of  being an adrenaline junkie’s dream.  Lots of near falls.

Edwards elevated and dropped Austin.  He nailed a Tiger Driver for a two count on Austin.  Cousin Jake nailed a Black Hole Slam on Edwards.   He grabbed Williams and went for a powerbomb but it was reversed into a Canadian Destroyer.  Austin broke up the pinfall and rolled up Williams, hooking the tights for the pin.

Your winner, Ace Austin!

It was all spots, no real story telling, but it wasn’t boring.  It was every multi-man bout you've seen before.  There were quite a few issues with my stream early on so I didn’t catch everything that took place here.

They announced the launch of a new streaming app, Impact Plus, which is a rebranded version of the GWN App.  They said the first live special on the App would be 5/5 from New York City, so that's the House of Glory co-promoted event.  With the Jeff Jarrett lawsuit, they needed to rebrand.  I like the new name.

Sami Callihan did a promo in black and white, discussing his background with Rich Swann.  He said that when they were "trapped in Orlando", Swann became fake and the type of person they used to hate.  Tonight, they are going to fight in OVE Rules.  Management wants to screw Sami by  banning OVE from ringside but that's OK, he's going to prove that he's a man and he's going to show that you don't turn your back on family.  He said he was going to break Swann's leg tonight, because he loves him.  Good promo.

Rohit Raju (with Gama Singh) vs. Scarlett Bordeaux (with Fallah Bah)

Scarlett went right after Raju and sent him to the floor.  She went for a sliding kick but Raju moved and she nailed Singh at ringside.  Crazy he’s taking bumps.  Raju took control and sent her hard into the turnbuckles.  He used his boot to grind her fingers on the mat.  Scarlett made her way back to her feet but he grabbed her and slammed her for a two count, pulling her up from the mat.

Raju berated Scarlet, so she slapped and spit on him.  Raju blocked a kick but she nailed him with an elbow.  She nailed a tilt-o-whirl into a crossface.  Raju teased tapping but finally broke free.  Scarlet hit a back suplex on Raju, who rolled to the outside.  Scarlet hit a bodypress off the top onto Singh and Raju.

Back in the ring, Raju gained control and set up for a Stinkface but was kicked in the groin.  Scarlet nailed the Kryptonite Krunch and scored the pin.

Your winner, Scarlet Bordeaux!

It was what it was.  I can REALLY do without all the spitting in Impact.  The stuff with Sami and Swann a few weeks ago was nasty.  Bordeaux is something special but I don't feel like this current role really showcases her the right way, but that's just me.  Seeing her hitting German suplexes on someone twice her size just doesn't look right to me.

They aired a video feature on the six man tag bout.

Moose & The North vs. The Rascalz.

Moose cleaned house on The Rascalz early on.  Page and Alexander looked good doing double-team spots.  The crowd chanted “Walking Weapon” on Alexander.  Moose peppered Dez with a series of right hands.  Alexander (making his PPV debut) nailed a nice over the knee backbreaker.  He and Page gave Dez quite a beating.

Dez kicked off Moose during a charge but Moose came back with a dropkick that sent Dez over the ropes and tied up in the buckle.  Moose hit a big Beel off the ropes, sending Dez across the ring.  He Moose nailed Trey off the apron to make sure he couldn’t come in and interfere.   Moose went for a powerslam but Dez turned it into a DDT.

Page tagged in and he snatched Dez away.   Alexander and Page drilled Dez.  Alexander was sent into Dez’s corner and he smashed the other members of The Rascalz with big forearms.  Page continued to trash Dez.  Dez was tossed over the top but landed on his feet on the entrance ramp.    Page went to follow but Trey nailed him.  This set off the Rascalz turning the tide as they hit several big Highspots.  Wentz nailed a big backwards flip off the ramp to the floor.

Trey went for a tope con hilo but Moose caught him in mid-air and slammed him into the barricades.  One of the others hit a dive off the back of Alexander, wiping out Moose.  The cameras missed this but they showed a replay.

Alexander showed his power, trying to powerslam two members of The Rascalz.  It turned into The Rascalz hitting a series of high flying moves on Alexander.  Page broke up the pinfall by slamming one of the Rascalz into the pile.

Dez was left in the ring with The North, tryin to battle them off.  Moose returned and nailed a big pump kick.  That North double teamed Dez.  Moose nailed a spear and scored the pin,

Your winners, The North and Moose!

Good six-man tag if you like big spots.  The right team went over here as they needed to establish The North and The Rascalz were going to get over with their spots anyway.

Melissa Santos interviewed Impact Champion Johnny Impact and Knockouts Champion Taya.  They gave her a ton of static.  Impact said that history and class are things Cage don't know about.  Impact said fans think that Lance Storm being the referee is going to make a difference, but that's why the seats are facing the ring.  He said that Cage didn't see John E. Bravo coming and he won't see Starship Pain coming.  Taya mocked the idea that Jordynne Grace was a viable contender.  Impact said the night will end with everyone talking about them and them carrying all the gold.
