WRESTLEMANIA KICKOFF & HALL OF FAME AUDIENCE, SASHA BANKS UPSETS WENDY WILLIAMS SHOW, TODD PETTENGILL'S RADIO STATION SOLD & MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2019-04-09 16:50:00

The second hour of the Wrestlemania Kickoff Show garnered 749,000 viewers on the USA Network.

The WWE Hall of Fame special last night after Raw brought in 1,154,000 viewers.

NWA President Billy Corgan was at Wrestlemania and the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony over the weekend.

Chris Nowinski was also at Wrestlemania.

Akam of The Authors of Pain, who has been out injured, was brought in for Wrestlemania weekend.

The most notable name not brought in for Wrestlemania was Dustin Rhodes.

Sasha Banks pulled off of The Wendy Williams Show today a few hours before the show was set to tape.  She cited personal reasons. The New York Post has reported the show was so upset, they'll never book Banks again, claiming she didn't give a valid reason for not appearing.  Banks did not appear on last night's Raw.

In a story that is being talked more and more within the radio industry, WPLJ 95.5 FM, which has been one of the top NYC stations since 1971, has been sold to The Educational Media Foundation and will cease to exist once the deal is fully closed this summer.  The station has been former WWE announcer Todd Pettengill's home for decades as he's hosted the morning show there for 27 years.  There's been a lot of talk about where this will leave him when WPLJ fades away and is replaced by K-LOVE, a Christian music station.
