TEAM LETHAL VS. LIJ, CODY & HANGMAN VS. BRISCOES, JEFF COBB & MORE: COMPLETE RING OF HONOR GLOBAL WARS: MAINE COVERAGE

By Mike Johnson on 2018-11-07 22:10:00

Welcome to PWInsider.com's live ongoing coverage of Ring of Honor Global Wars: Maine from the Androscoggin Bank Coliseum in Lewiston, Maine!

Your announcers are Colt Cabana and Ian Riccaboni.

Flip Gordon vs. Eli Isom.

There were some audio issues early on with it being low and the announcers sound very, well, deeper voiced than usual.  It's obviously some sort of production issue.

They shake hands to adhere to the code of Honor.  They go back and forth until they each go for a dropkick and face off.  Gordon is worked over until he nails a Pele Kick and a moonsault for a two count.  Isom makes a comeback and sends Gordon to the floor, nailing a tope to the outside.  Gordon makes a comeback and nailed a dropkick in the corner for a two count.   Isom makes a comeback with several suplexes and scores several two counts.  Flip finally scores the pin with the Star Spangled Stunner.  All solid, athletic action.

Your winner, Flip Gordon!

ROH Tag Team Champions Kazarian & Scorpio Sky vs. The Bouncers (non-title)

Sky told everyone that Lewiston was the worst town he's ever been in.  Big shock there.  Christopher Daniels is at ringside.  Solid tag match with some decent back and forth action.  Kazarian is worked over for some time before Sky makes the hot tag and hits some nice offense.  The Champions get the pin with a double powerbomb on Beer City Bruiser.

The announcing issues were fixed.

Your winners, Kazarian and Sky!

ROH TV Champion Jeff Cobb vs. Cheeseburger. (non-title)

I don't think this will go well for Burger.  They told a David vs. Goliath story.  Burger nailed several shots to no real effect.  Cobb went for a powerbomb but Burger escaped and took it to him.  Cobb drove him down to the mat and nailed a big Beel toss across the ring.  Burger ducked several clotheslines but was caught with a bearhug.   Burger locked on a front guillotine but was brought to the buckles and deposited there.  Cobb dropkicked him in the corner, then held him up for a long vertical delayed superplex for a two count.  Cobb was shocked Burger kicked up.  Cobb went for a standing moonsault but Burger rolled out of the way.  Burger fired up and tried to take him down with a crucifix.  He had no success and turned it into a sunset flip.  Cobb grabbed him by the throat but Burger escaped and nailed the palm strike.  Cobb went down to his knees and Burger ascended to the top with a springboard swanton for a two count.  Burger was caught and driven to the mat with a suplex, squased with a Tour of the Islands and pinned.

Your winner, Jeff Cobb!

This was as good as it could be with Cobb playing cat and mouse while Burger showed some nice fire by taking the fight to him.

Cobb pulled Burger up and shook his hand.  The crowd liked that.

Rhett Titus came out pretty much buck naked except for a speedo.  He said his clothes were lost by the airline.

ROH Six Man Tag Team Champions The Kingdom vs. Dalton Castle & The Boys

The challengers did some comedy stuff early on, mixed with some triple-team spots.  Dalton and The Boys cleared the ring. Castle tossed The Boys over the top over and over so they could take out The Kingdom members on the floor.  The crowd got into this and chanted "Boys."  It culminated with Castle tossing both of them over the top at the same time and then playing to the crowd.  Vinnie Marseglia let loose the red balloons from under the ring and one of the Boys was pulled underneath.  He attacked Castle from behind and then wiped out one of the Boys in the corner.

Castle caught him out of nowhere with the Batarang but the other members of the Kingdom broke it up by grabbing him.  Taven drilled Castle with a big boot.  Castle rolled out of the ring.  One of the Boys returned from under the ring wearing a Freddy Krueger sweater.  He raked Marseglia across the back like Freddy would with his claws.  He nailed several moves on Vinnie, including a standing sliced bread #2.  He went for the claw, which Vinnie blocked but he was slashed with the "claws."  Castle returned and demanded he take the sweater off and The Boy was traumatized after.

Taven and Castle began brawling in the center of the ring.  They brawled to the floor.  O'Ryan and Marseglia finally wiped out one of the Boys for the pin.

Your winners and still ROH Six Man Tag Team Champions, The Kingdom!

Taven cut a promo and said what happened tonight won't compare to what he does to Dalton Castle in NYC.  He said he would never let Castle return to the top of the company.  He said it's his company and his kingdom.

The Briscoes vs. Cody & Adam Page.

Page and Mark started out, trying to test each other.  Jay and Cody tagged in.  They went into a test of strength before breaking and circling each other.  Jay nailed Cody, who came back with a right hand from underneath a la Goldust.   Cody nailed a dropkick and tagged out to Page.  They whipped Jay into the corner but he fought them off as they advanced towards him,  Mark tagged in and Jay nailed a gourd buster on Page, being dropped by Jay and went for a cover as the stream dropped.

It returned with Mark having control over Page.  They immediately apologized and noted the power in the building went out.  Well, that had to suck.  Cody tagged in and controlled Mark.  They joked Sabu showed up when the lights went out.  The Briscoes took control and double teamed Cody.  They beat Cody down in their corner.   Mark was working over Cody on the floor but Brandi grabbed a chair.  Mark tossed Cody back in and backed away from her.  The Briscoes continued working over Cody.

Mark nailed a Spicoli Driver and went to the top.  Cody avoided a move and rebounded off the ropes.  They clotheslined each other.  They each recovered and tagged out to their respective partners.   Page went for a clothesline but Jay ducked, only to be hit with another.   Page set up and charged but was sent up and over in the corner.  Page hit the shooting star shoulderblock on Mark and returned to face Jay, nailing a big German suplex for a two count.  Brandi got knocked down at some point and began selling she re-injured her arm.

The Briscoes were sent into each other by Page, who nailed a top rope moonsault to the floor.  Mark returned to the ring, where Cody caught him with the CrossRhodes but Jay broke up the pinfall at the two count.  The Briscoes cornered Page.  Jay nailed the Jay Driller.  Mark nailed the Froggy Bow elbow for the pin.

Your winners, The Briscoes!

Based on what I got to see, this was a really good competitive bout.
