LAST MAN STANDING LEAVES WITH THE TITLE, SHAYNA VS. SANE, COLE DEFENDS, EC3 VS. THE DREAM, AMAZING TAG TITLE MATCH OPENS THE SHOW AND THE WINNERS DON'T GET TO ENJOY IT: ONGOING NXT TAKEOVER BLOG

The recap of this feud is so awesome because this whole feud has been so awesome. It stinks that Aleister Black won't be wrestling but they have done such a great job in the past with Gargano and Ciampa that they can weather that storm and here we go, with an amazing main event.  Last man standing is the NXT Champion!

Johnny is out first.  Mauro said we will see some crazy stuff.  Yes, we will.  As Dusty Rhodes once famously said this is, "Violence.....for the sake of violence."

As soon as Johnny's music stopped the boos for Ciampa started.  Yep, the smartest of the smart fans are vociferously booing a heel, wrestling at its best.  So much so that they are dropping F bombs on the champ.  And damn, he is soo good in his role.  Best heel in the business.

Johnny attacked the champ before the bell and we are off.  Johnny was on fire until Ciampa whipped him into the metal steps on the floor.  But Johnny came back!

They fought on the floor and Johnny exposed the floor, pulling up the mat.  That will come into play later, but not now.

Johnny tossed Ciampa int the announce table.  I think Pecy got clipped.  Johnny went to lay out Ciampa but got an air raid through the table.  Johnny got up before ten.  So Ciampa went to the chair.  This feud can go on forever as far as I am concerned.

Ciampa hit a sick running knee to the face.  He said we are not done by a long shot and hit him with another.  This is so good.

Ciampa set the chair on Johnny's face but as he ran in, Johnny got up and used it on him his knee.  Johnny then blasted him with chair shots and drove the chair into the ribs of the champ.

Johnny went for the lawn dart but Ciampa locked on the sleeper hold.  My wife is watching with me and is thorougly enjoying Mauro Ranallo's call.  Mauro is great.

Ciampa let go of the sleeper but Johnny beat the count.  So, he locked the sleeper on again.  So smart, the sleeper, it doesn't hurt but it works and sells the match.  That is what wrestling is at its best.

Johnny powered out and hit Ciampa with the dart.  They beat the count and Johnny went to the floor, where he set up a table.  And then another.  He went for a suplex from the ring but it got blocked.  Ciampa hit a German suplex.  Then another.  And a third.  The champ hit a rinning knee.  Chair to the gut.  And then the back. And another.  Gargano kept fighting back.  Another shot to the back.  Project Ciampa.  Then another.  Then another.  Damn.  Oh my God, he killed Kenny!

The ref started the count while Ciampa sat on the chair and counted with him.  Johnny got up at 9 and superkicked Ciampa in the face, knocking him out of the chair.

They just went nuts on each other from that point on.  They laid each other out with double clotheslines but both got up at one.  The drama is great.  The fan agree.

Johnny missed the cannonball splash on the floor so Ciampa threw him into the barricade.  Fairy Tell Ending on the steps.  Johnny got up at 9.  He will not give up!

Ciampa literally went into the toolbox.  He is clipping the apron off of the ring.  He pulled off the padding.  We see the wooden boards.  He went to grab Johnny but he was met with a fire extinguisher to the face!  Ciampa is blinded.  Johnny has the crutch.  He hit him in the gut then broke it over his back.  A few times.

They went into the ring and Ciamp almost got Johnny on the exposed ring.  Johnny was dangling over the tables when Ciampa said bye bye.  Johnny hit a big kick and then DDT'd Ciampa on the exposed wood.  Johnny got up at five as the fans chanted he deserved it.  Ciampa had to roll to the floor to get to his feet at 9.  Johnny hit a tope and then wiped him out on the floor.

Johnny went to superkick Ciampa but he hit a production dude instead.  Ciampa smashed Johnny's head into the monitor.  He used the chair and his knee to drive Johnny through the barricade.  He then threw pretty much everything at ringside, including the production guy, on Johnny to keep him down, but JOHNNY GOT UP!  Cool stuff!

Ciampa then went to the handcuffs but Gargano stopped him by driving him into the ring post.  Johnny locked the cuff on Ciampa's right hand.  The champ stopped him from getting the other hand.  They fought to see who could put the other through the tables.  Johnny finally waved bye bye and kicked Ciampa through the table.  Ciampa used what was left of the crutch to get up at nine.  The fans chanted Fight Forever.

Ciampa led Johnny up the ramp way.  Johnny chased and attacked him on the ramp.  He paid him back by throwing him into the stage set, as Ciampa did to him.  He locked the escape in on the stage.  Ciampa tapped but that doesn't count here.  Johnny handcuffed Ciamp to the stage.  Ciampa begged off.  Johnny went nuts on him and nailed a nasty kick to the face.  The fans want more.  The stage is on wheels.  Uh oh.  Ciampa said he is sorry.  Too late, another kick.  And another.  Johnny said you did this.  Ciampa said he is sorry.  Johnny doesn't believe it.  Johnny seems to be about to break.  He did.  He exposed the knee and blasted him with a running knee, wiping himself out in the process.  Just as I predicted in the Tip Sheet, he couldn't control his anger.  At the count of nine, Johnny was down and Ciampa rolled off of the stage, landing on his feet.  Your winner and still champion, Tomasso Ciampa.

The crowd clappd, paying tribue to both.  They are saying that Johnny "dislocated his knee".  Great way to say he couldn't stand up.

Ciampa got up and lifted his Title, proud of what he had done.  And damn, he should be from a work standpoint because this match was completely and utterly amazing.

Johnny was finally helped up and the fans gove him a big hand as he was helped to a stretcher.

At that point, Ciampa came back out on the ramp way and held up his Title, and the show went off the air.

Once again, NXT hits a home run.  It was a great show, with amazing booking leading up to the event, as well as great stories told during the show.  Excellent show, as usual.
