A GREAT SHOW, A SURPRISE TITLE CHANGE, A RETURN & MORE: COMPLETE WWE MONEY IN THE BANK COVERAGE

By Mike Johnson on 2018-06-17 19:00:00

Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Alexa Bliss vs. Ember Moon vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch vs Natalya vs. Lana vs. Naomi vs. Sasha Banks.

Everyone battled at the bell.  Bliss was whipped into a ladder on the floor almost immediately.  Moon was tossed into the timekeeper’s area by Charlotte.  Moon dove back into the ringside area, taking out Becky Lynch.   Natalya slid a ladder into the ring but was nailed by Moon.  Moon, alone in the ring, tried to set up the ladder but was confronted by Naomi.  She fended off Naomi but was attacked by Sasha, who she nailed with a ladder and drilled with an enziguiri.

Moon tried to set up the ladder, but Banks returned.  They battled near the ladder with Banks being hit with a bodypress, crashing down across the ladder.  Lana swept Moon’s legs out from under her and drilled her with a ladder, then nailed an X-Factor onto the ladder.  Lana pulled a larger ladder in the ring, but Natalya confronted her and slammed her on the ladder.

Natalya and Naomi battled, and Naomi was nailed down, hitting a split on the ladder.  Charlotte went after Natalya and chopped her chest over and over.  Natalya finally went down, and Charlotte went for the ladder, but Becky grabbed the other side.  They battled over the ladder.  Naomi dropkicked the ladder, taking both down.

Naomi went to use the ladder, but Bliss pulled it out of the ring.  Naomi nailed her with a dropkick through the ropes.  Naomi nailed a Blockbuster off the apron to the floor on Banks.  They showed everyone wiped out on the floor.  The crowd chanted, “This is awesome.”  While I hate that chant as it’s overused, I really have enjoyed the hell out of this so far.

Naomi and Moon battled over the ladder allowing Lynch to try and climb it while they were holding it but failing to get to the briefcase.  They wiped her out and continued their battle against each other.  Moon hiptossed Naomi into the ladder, which was braced against the buckles;.   Banks returned and used her legs to drive Moon into the buckles, then drilled down atop of Moon, with a ladder underneath.  Lana tried to get involved but was nailed and stacked over Moon.  Banks nailed a double knee off the ropes onto the two who were prone across the ladder.

Banks set up a ladder in the center of the ring but found Charlotte ready for her.  They faced off and tried to climb the same side of the ladder.  They stopped the other and battled back and forth.  Flair nailed a neckbreaker.  Flair tried to nail a Razor's Edge onto a ladder in the corner but Banks pulled herself onto a ladder and started climbing.  Flair was attacked by Natalya and they battled but Lynch shoved Banks off the ladder and she crashed down on Natalya and Flair.

Bliss, Banks and Lynch all climbed the ladder and battled near the top.  Lana set up another ladder next to them started to climb it.  Banks grabbed the case but couldn't remove it.  Natalya pulled Banks down.  Moon joined the fray.  Banks was pulled off the ladder and powerbombed into it but Natalya.  That knocked Lynch off of it.  Flair returned to the fray.

Everyone battled, being wiped out one by one as Bliss held on.  Finally, Flair grabbed Bliss, who reversed a move and nailed a Code Red on her.  Lana tried to get up the ladder as the others were wiped out, but Bliss pulled her down.  Bliss menaced her, but Lana nailed a great kick to the head.  She locked on an Accolade, paying tribute to Rusev.

Naomi hit a springboard onto the ladder and made it to the case, but Lynch yanked her down and drove her knees into the ladder.  Lynch ascended the ladder, only to find Flair on the other side.  They battled back and forth but Bliss toppled the ladder.  Lynch crashed into the ropes, but Flair landed on her feet.  She speared Bliss.  Naomi smashed Banks into the ladder.  Lana nailed Naomi and started to climb but Natalya pulled her into an Electric Chair.

Natalya began climbing the ladder but Moon dove into the scene and drilled her off the ladder.  Flair and Moon battled with Flair spearing her into a ladder in the corner.  Lynch caught Charlotte with an exploder.  Lynch made it to the top but didn’t unhook the case.  She looked down scared and Bliss was running around.  She tipped the ladder and Lynch crashed down to a ladder that was bridged in the corner.

Bliss scrambled to the top and retrieved the briefcase.

Your winner, Alexa Bliss!

An extremely entertaining and frenetic ladder match where everyone had a big moment, and everyone worked hard and took some great bumps.  Far superior to last year’s ladder match in my opinion.  I absolutely loved this and it was the best thing on the show so far.  They rocked the house and worked their butts off.

Backstage, Paige and Kurt Angle were talking about how great the co-branded shows were.  Constable Corbin reminded Angle that Stephanie wouldn’t be happy if they didn’t get the other briefcase.  Paige asked him if he had an attitude because last year, he failed to cash in.  He reminded Angle to get it done and walked off.

Roman Reigns vs. Jinder Mahal.

There was a “Well Dunn” sign as Roman came to the ring.  Chicago, I love you.

Sunil was in a wheelchair for his introduction of Mahal, selling the latest beating from Roman Reigns.   They had a lot of camera shots focusing on him.  So, he’s going to play Ron Wright in Smoky Mountain Wrestling.

They slugged it out at the bell.  Roman took Jinder down with an elbow.  Big CM Punk chant within a minute of the bell.   Jinder kicked Roman as he rebounded off the ropes but was nailed with a Samoan Drop for a two count.

The crowd chanted “Boring” and “NXT.”

Reigns went for the Drive-By but missed.  Sunil leapt out of the wheelchair and shoved Reigns into the ring post and went back to selling he was hurt.  Jinder worked over Reigns and drilled him with a knee for a two count.

The crowd chanted for “Rusev Day” and followed that up with “This is awful.”

Jinder locked on a side chinlock, wearing down Roman.  He wore down Roman for a long time, grinding down.  Roman made his way to his feet and battled back with right hands.  He went to the apron outside but was shoulderblocked off and into the barricade.  Jinder followed and grabbed Roman by the hair.  He brought Reigns back into the ring and scored a two count.

Jinder continued the assault on Roman, beating him down. Lots of big pops and boos in he crowd having nothing to do with the match.  I just received a text there are "beachballs everywhere" in the crowd.  Every time one is destroyed there is a big "a**hole" chant in the Allstate Arena.

Roman began making a comeback.  Fans in the venue are doing the wave.  Jinder nailed him and went to the ropes but Roman nailed him.  Roman nailed a series of clotheslines in the corner.  The audience has completely given up on the match and are trying to entertain themselves.

Jinder caught Roman as he rebounded off the ropes with a high knee and scored a two count.  He was upset Roman kicked out.  Roman tried for a Samoan Drop but Jinder slipped out.  Roman nailed him and scored another two count.  Roman went for the Superman Punch as the crowd booed but Jinder avoided it and they went back and forth.  Jinder caught him with a big gutbuster for a two count.

Fans are chanting "Take it home" and "end this match."

I actually feel bad for these two as the work here isn't bad at all but the audience is completely sh**ting on them live.   Jinder set up for his finisher but Reigns escaped and nailed the Superman punch for a two count.

Fans are now chanting "Y2J."

Roman went for the spear but was kicked in the face and tossed into the ring post.  Jinder went to nail Reigns, who was on the apron but was caught with a knee. Roman drilled him again and went to the floor, hitting a Drive-by on Jinder.  As he went to return to the ring, Roman was shoved again by Sunil but this time Roman stopped him.  Roman drilled Jinder, then hit a Superman Punch on Sunil, who fell over the wheelchair.

Roman nailed another on Jinder, then speared Sunil on the floor.  As he returned to the ring, Jinder caught him with a small package for a close two count.  Roman kicked up, speared Jinder and scored the pin.

Your winner, Roman Reigns!

The story here was that the crowd completely rejected everything and I mean everything going on, but the actual match was nowhere near as bad as that would lead you to believe.  Singh did a great job as Jinder's toadie.  Jinder had one of the best matches he's had in forever.  Roman was his usual good self.  The problem was the audience live didn't want to see it.

WWE aired a great video feature on Katie Miller, an athlete in the Special Olympics games in Seattle that are forthcoming.
