COMPLETE RING OF HONOR WAR OF THE WORLDS: LOWELL COVERAGE

By Mike Johnson on 2018-05-09 21:50:00

Cheeseburger vs. Bully Ray

Ray got into a verbal back and forth with Cabana as he came out, with Cabana reminding him that he promised to help this generation of wrestlers.  Ray shoved Cheeseburger down on his rear end.  Burger got right back in his face, psyching himself up and drilled him with a right.  Ray grabbed him and tossed him across the ring with a powerbomb.  Burger tried to pull himself up with the ropes, manning up.

Ray grabbed him again and nailed another powerbomb.  The referee checked on Burger as Ray walked around the ring, sneering at the audience.  Burger demanded referee Todd Sinclair not stop the match.  Ray grabbed him, spun him around and nailed another powerbomb.  Ray cupped his ear to soak in the fans booing.   Ray grabbed the chain he brought to the ring but the referee didn't allow him to use it.  While the referee was removing it, however, Ray lowblowed Cheeseburger.  Ray slipped out of the ring, staring at the fans, allowing himself to be counted out.

Your winner by count out, Cheeseburger!

Ray returned to the ring and raised the dazed Burger's arm before nailing yet another powerbomb.   He then teased another one on the floor before throwing Burger back down.  He menaced the fans, Bobby Cruise and others before returning to the commentary area and told Cabana to mind his business.

As a way to get Ray over as a heel and Burger over as a sympathetic character, this was perfect.

Cody & Adam Page & Marty Scurll vs. Roppongi 3.0 & Rocky Romero.

Jay Lethal vs. Jay White vs. Chuckie T in a three-way has been added to tonight’s card.

Cody was accompanied by Bernard the Business Bear.

The crowd was super into all things Bullet Club with lots of streamers being tossed.  They were especially into Scurll’s antics.  Yo was tripped by the bear, allowing Scurll to attack him and tag out to Page.    The Bullet Club spent a lot of time early on tagging in and out, working over Yo.  To play into the issues within the Bullet Club, Cody and Scurll weren’t happy with each other and were trying to outdo the other in the ring.

Yo finally nailed an enziguiri and tagged out to Sho, who nailed everyone possible.   He hit a nice rana on Scurll.  He nailed a Fisherman’s suplex with a bridge for a two count and transitioned it into a Fujiwara armbar.  Roppongi 3.0 doubleteamed Scurll with a big double knee strike.

Scurll drilled Yo with a brainbuster over his knee with a two count.  He called for the finger snaps but instead Cody tagged himself in and went for CrossRhodes.  Yo slipped out and tagged out to Romero, who nailed a series of clotheslines and a leaping rana on Page.  He nailed double clotheslines over and over.

Rhodes came back with the Disaster Kick.  Yo nailed a suplex.  Scurll nailed knee strikes.  Sho drilled him.  Page nailed a lariat.  Romero hit an enziguiri.   The bear ended up eating a superkick by accident from Scurll.  He and Cody began arguing.  Page tried to play peacekeeper.  Roppongi and Romero returned to attack them.  Everyone battled back and forth.   The Bullet Club was sent to the floor.  Roppongi and Romero hit three dives to the outside.

Back in the ring, Rhodes caught Romero with CrossRhodes and scored the pin.

Your winners, Cody Rhodes & Marty Scurll & Adam Page!

Frenetic tag bout that certainly made Bullet Club fans happy with all their shenanigans.
