We get a live performance of the Takeover theme song, then we go to the ring for our opening match...

NXT North American Title Ladder Match: EC3 vs Velveteen Dream vs Ricochet vs Killian Dain vs Lars Sulilvan vs Adam Cole

EC3 powders right out to the floor, then Dain and Sullivan clear everyone else out so they can turn their attention to each other.  EC3 is on the apron yelling at them to do it, but they go out to the floor and chase EC3 until the other participants all jump in.  Ricochet nearly kills himself with a shooting star press to the floor that takes both Dain and Sullivan out, and he quickly slides the ladder into the ring.  Well, that didn't take long!  Dream comes in and nails Ricochet and sets the ladder up in the corner, but Ricochet hits a flying headscissors and tries a springboard something, but Dream knocks him off the top rope to the floor and tries to climb.  Cole pulls Dream down and unloads on him in the corner, then knocks Dain to the floor with an enziguiri.  Over the knee neckbreaker on Dream, and Cole starts to climb but stops when he sees EC3 come in.  EC3 hits a flatliner on Cole, knocks Sullivan off the apron, and hits a Stinger splash, snapmare, and Perfect necksnap on Cole.  Sullivan is in and destroys both Cole and EC3, then charges Dain, but Dain sidesteps and sends Sulilvan to the floor before wiping him out with a dive through the ropes.  Dain gets back in and cleans everyone else's clock with clotheslines until Cole drills him with a bicycle kick.  Back to a free for all until Sullivan brings another ladder to the ring and THROWS IT AT ALL THE OTHER COMPETITORS.  As if that wasn't enough, he picks the ladder back up and continues to wipe out the rest of the field before setting the ladder up in the corner and ramming Dain into it.  Sullivan press slams Dream onto the other ladder, then sets the ladder up and starts to climb.  Ricochet goes for a sunset bomb, Sullivan holds on, and all the other wrestlers work together to hit the sunset bomb.

Cole is the only one left standing and goes for the belt, but Dain pulls him down.  Cole asks him who he thinks he is, so Dain knocks him out with a headbutt, backdrops Ricochet onto the other ladder, and tries to climb.  EC3 slams Dain off, then Cole and EC3 form a temporary alliance to take Sullivan and Dain out.  That only lasts until EC3 does "EC3, BAY BAY!" at which point Cole lays him out and then superkicks everyone before doing "Adam Cole, BAY BAY!"  Cole climbs, Sullivan shoves him off, and Dream knocks Sullivan to the floor with a ladder.  Dream hits Dain with the Purple Rainmaker, then one for Cole, and finally one for Ricochet.  Sullivan rams Dream into the corner with a ladder and tries an avalanche, but Dream smashes Sullivan in the face with the ladder, climbs it, and hits the Purple Rainmaker on Sullivan.  That was nuts.  Dream climbs the ladder, EC3 powerbombs him off and onto another ladder set up in the corner, and then struggles to maintain his own upright position.  He does and lays both Dain and Sullivan out, then he goes up the ladder and gets pulled down by Cole.  Cole goes up, and EC3 follows him up and hits the TK3 off the ladder.  Dain drills EC3 with a bicycle kick and starts to climb, but Cole stops him and gets tossed as a reward.  Dain dumps EC3 in the corner, drops a ladder on his chest, and hits a senton.  OUCH.  Dain puts the ladder back on EC3 and goes back up, but Cole nails him and jumps on his back, but Dain hits the Vader bomb on EC3 anyway with Cole still on his back.

We're down to Dain and Sullivan...but Ricochet jumps in the middle and uses his speed to outmaneuver both men and nail them with speed moves...until Sullivan gets him by the throat and tosses him across the ring to Dain.  Dain takes that as a challenge, and the fans chant to throw him back as Dain obliges and Ricochet rolls clear past Sulilvan and to the floor.  NOW we get the battle of the big men, as they trade forearms in the middle of the ring and Dain gets the advantage, superkicking Sullivan and laying him out with a hard clothesline.  Dain tries a crossbody, but Sullivan CATCHES HIM and hits a powerslam.  Just insane.  Sullivan climbs, Ricochet pulls him down and superkicks him, then he tries to go up and Sullivan lifts the ladder and tilts it over, and Ricochet converts it into a moonsault in midair and takes Cole and Dain out on the floor.  Ricochet comes back in with a springboard dropkick that takes Sullivan out, then EC3 puts him on the top rope and hits some chops, but Ricochet kicks him onto a ladder laying on the ground and hits a shooting star press onto EC3 on the ladder.  A badly banged up Ricochet climbs the ladder, but Dream is in and lays him out with a big right hand, misses a shot with a ladder, and Ricochet nails him and, through an unwieldy series of events too complex to recap here, they set up the ladder in the middle of the ring and use the other ladder to set up a platform between the first one and the corner.  They fight on top of the platform ladder, Ricochet knocks Dream down, but Dream kicks him and hits a death valley driver on the ladder platform.  The crowd is going nuts for Velveteen Dream, but both he and Ricochet roll out to the floor.

Sullivan rips Dream's head off with a clothesline, then sets the other ladder up between the ring apron and the barricade, puts Dream on it, gets to the apron, and gives EC3 the Freak Accident onto Dream and through the ladder.  Now another ladder gets set up like the previous one, Dain puts Ricochet on it and goes to the apron, Cole tries to stop him, but Dain just picks him up and hits a Michinoku Driver through both Ricochet and the ladder.  Everyone in this match is DEAD.  Sullivan is up first and in the ring, he sets a ladder up and starts to climb, but is moving REAL slow.  He almost makes it when we see Dain coming up the other side of the ladder.  They trade punches on top of the ladder until EC3 takes another ladder and drills both men with it, then sets his ladder up next to the first one.  He and Cole climb up either side of that, and all four of them duke it out on top of the ladders.  Dream is in next and he sets up yet a third ladder next to the other two, and he climbs up as well as Ricochet is up the ladder opposite him, and all six men fight it out and try to climb over each other until Cole takes EC3 off with a Russian legsweep, Ricochet hits a super neckbreaker on Dream, and we're back to Dain and Sullivan.  Sullivan gives Dain a Freak Accident off the ladder, and everyone's down again.  Sullivan is the last one left standing, and he climbs back up with blood running down the side of his face, and suddenly Ricochet flies out of NOWHERE and jumps on Sullivan, taking him and one of the ladders down.  Ricochet quickly cilmbs the ladder, but Cole tips it over, Ricochet bounces off the top rope, and Cole quickly climbs and grabs the belt, and we have our first North American Champion!

Winner and FIRST NXT North American Champion: Adam Cole

What a terrific match to crown the first champion!  I honestly had no idea who was going to win until the very end, terrific match and big congrats to Adam Cole...who gets to come back out here later tonight and wrestle again!

The NXT Women's Title is on the line as we continue on Page 3!
