Hardcore War: Tommy Dreamer vs. Abyss

Big "ECW" chant for Dreamer as he came out.  Fans chanted Joseph Park at the onset of the match.  The early portion was Abyss using his power.  Dreamer came back with some clubbering elbows.  They went to the floor, where Dreamer was sent into the guard rail.  He went to the back and came out with a trash can shot to the face and nailed several cookie sheet shots.  Abyss nailed an atomic drop on the railing.  He brought a chair into the ring and beat Dreamer with it.  He set up a chair in the middle of the ring and Dreamer ended up eating a drop toehold into the chair.

Abyss continued nailing Dreamer with chairs and went for a sit-down splash but Dreamer turned the chair sideways, making Abyss crotch himself.  Dreamer hit a high cross bodyblock and worked over Abyss in the corner with a series of right hands.  Dreamer grabbed the ring bell and nailed Abyss in the mid-section with it.  He placed it on Abyss' groin and rang the bell.   Dreamer went for the Spicoli Driver but his back went out.  Abyss grabbed him for a sideslam for a two count.

Abyss went to the back this time and returned with a ladder.  Yeah, nothing good can come from this.   He placed it on the ring apron but Dreamer dropkicked it into him.  Dreamer nailed Abyss in the head with a cookie sheet.  Dreamer wedged the ladder between the turnbuckles and attempted to whip Abyss into it, but it was reversed and Dreamer hit the ladder hard.   Abyss nailed a series of rights hands.  Dreamer reversed a whip and sent Abyss into the ladder.  Dreamer nailed a DDT for a two count.

Dreamer pulled out a bag of thumbtacks.  Nick Aldis hit the ringside area but Dreamer nailed him.  Abyss snuck up and nailed Dreamer with the Black Hole Slam onto the tacks for the pin.

Your winner, Abyss!

Dreamer cut a promo after saying this was the last show of the year and thanked Wisconsin because they have proven they are sick hardcore freaks as much as Philly and NYC.

Candice Michelle vs. Lisa Marie Varon

This is billed as Michelle's retirement match.   They hugged before the bell.   The stream was a little wonky.  Varon was down and holding her knee, acting as if it was injured.  They spent a long time checking on her and Varon did an awesome job with her facial expressions here.  She was carried out to the the aisle with Michelle following her, with Varon finally turning around and slugging her.  Varon then did kicks and jumping jacks to show she was fine.

Varon worked over Michelle and scored several two counts.  She went for the Widow's Peak, hanging her in the air and choked Michelle against the ropes, telling her to look at her family.   Michelle was worked over with a series of shoulderblocks in the corner.  Michelle was locked in a chinlock.  She fired back with several elbows but was slammed backwards to the mat by her hair.  Varon whipped Michelle into the ropes and the women clotheslined each other.

Michelle made a comeback with an elbow and a mule kick.  She dropped an elbow for a two count.  Varon went for Widow's Peak but Michelle escaped and nailed a Facebuster.  Michelle went to the ropes and went for a tornado DDT but apparetly forgot the tornado, landing on her feet and then hitting a standard DDT for the pin.

Your winner, Candice Michelle!

Michelle gave a speech after saying that from the day she stepped into WWE, Lisa had a hand in making her what she was.  Michelle said when she was 18 years old, she had a dream, packed her car, hugged her mother and drove to Los Angeles.  One day her agent called and told her WWE was holding their first ever Diva Search contest with the winner getting $100,000 and a contract.  She said "Heck yeah, I am interested."  What her agent didn't know is she grew up watching wrestling with her stepfather Ken, who she pointed out.  She didn't win but she got a three year deal and that's when the hard work began.  Three years later, she got a match against her arch-nemesis Melina and she won the match and held the championship high for the first time.  Tonight is a very special night for her because it's the 15th anniversary of the day her mother passed away.  She said she wanted thank HOH and Tommy Dreamer.  She got to be a role model for her children and to show them never stop fighting for your dream.  She wanted to thank her husband who is the calm to her crazy.

Austin Aries vs. Joey Mercury (with Shane Douglas)

Someone claiming to be a federal agent overseeing sports-entertainment did a Bill Alfonso gimmick where he bemoaned all the hardcore elements of HOH and said the company was under official investigation.  He threatened to shut down the promotion and knocked the fans for liking Willie Mack.  He said that Shane Douglas was given a federal manager's license and can manage anywhere in the country.  He said Douglas was unlawfully ejected earlier in the show and he is mandating that Dougas can remain at ringside tonight.

They noted this was the first time that Aries was actually wrestling in his hometown.

Mercury stalled and walked around the ring.  Seriously, that has happened way too much tonight.  This is like the third or fourth time they've had this start out a match.  It's too repetitive and I expect better of a promotion Dreamer is booking.

They finally locked up and they had some solid back and forth wrestling, countering each other.  Aries began working over Mercury's arm.  He worked over Mercury with a series of rights.  Aries used the ropes to snap Mercury with a neckbreaker.  Aries went to the top but Shane Douglas distracted him.  Mercury nailed him, sending Aries into the barricades below.  Mercury demanded the referee count Aries out.  Aries just barely met the count.  Mercury worked him over for a long time and used a bearhug from behind to try and force a submission.

Aries was sent into the ropes and drilled with a knee to the mid-section.   Aries tried to fight back and they slugged it out.  Now it was Aries with a knee to the mid-section.   Aries came off the corner with a big elbow to the back of the neck   Aries worked him over with blows in the corner.   Aries missed a dropkick in the corner thanked to Douglas' distraction.   Mercury mocked Roman Reigns and went for a spear but Aries took him down and locked on the Muta Lock.  Mercury raked his face to escape.

Mercury teased a Superman Punch and a Pedigree but Aries made a comeback.  Mercury kicked him low.  Aries was maneuvered over the top to the apron.  They battled in the corner.  Aries peppered him with forearms.    Aries nailed several forearms and knocked Mercury to the floor.  Douglas checked on Mercury on the floor.  Aries nailed a dive to the outside, taking both down.

Aries went to the top but Mercury shoved the referee into the corner, forcing Aries to crash and burn into the ring.  The referee had words with Mercury, who kicked him in the groin.  Douglas tossed Mercury a steel chain.  Mercury wrapped it around his fist and nailed Aries with it.

Mercury covered Aries and another ref slid into the ring.  It was Dreamer, who counted two then faced off with Mercury and nailed him.  Douglas hit the ring but Dreamer placed him and Mercury into the tree of woe.   He and Aries nailed stereo dropkicked on them.  Aries went to the top and nailed the 450 splash and scored the pin.

Your winner, Austin Aries!

Aries said the place was packed with his family, friends and people who had his back and believed in Austin Aries.  Aries said that one of those people is Tommy Dreamer and one of this places is House of Hardcore.  He said that because of that, every time Aries steps into the ring, you will get everything Aries has.

The show went off the air with Aries in the ring as the fans chanted his name.

Post Show Notes:

Candice Michelle tweaked her knee and it appears she may have burst her bursar sack.  They are icing it backstage.

The company's next event will be Royal Rumble weekend on 1/26/17 at the 2300 Arena.  It will likely be Tommy Dreamer and two partners against Nick Aldis, Joey Mercury and Shane Douglas in a six man tag on top.
