JEFF COBB VS. SAMI CALLIHAN, DREAMER BLOODIED, BULLY RAY TEAMS WITH ROCK N' ROLL EXPRESS, MAGNUS UNLEASHED & MORE: HOH IN PHILADELPHIA COVERAGE

By Mike Johnson on 2017-08-12 19:14:00

Welcome to PWInsider.com's live, ongoing coverage of House of Hardcore's return to the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA!

HOH has not announced an official lineup for tonight, so the entire card is a mystery.

Lance Anoa'i vs. Vik Dalishus (with Hale Collins, Katred and the Double Dupress)

The crowd chanted "You fat f***" at Dalishus.  Dalishus worked over Lance and beat him against the corner.  Lance came back with several headbutts and a dropkick.   He charged and nailed a big uppercut.  The crowd was all over Dalishus.  Lance nailed a diving clothesline into the corner.  He was cut off by Dalishus and sent to the floor.  When he returned to the ring, Dalishus scored with a suplex for a two count.  He continued mauling Lance and nailed an inverted DDT for another two count.

Dalishus locked on a chinlock as the crowd tried to rally Lance.  Lance fought his way to his feet but was nailed and knocked down.  Dalishus went to the top for a twisting moonsault but there was no water in the pool.  Lance began working him over with offensive moves and scored a two count with a hip attack in the corner.  He nailed a spinebuster and nailed a standing moonsault for a two count.

Lance nailed a Samoan Drop.  Hale Collins got on the apron but was superkicked off.  Lance nailed a top rope splash and scored the pin.

Your winner, Lance Anoa'i!

Good opener.

Dalishus declared that his loss was highway robbery and he and his entourage were not leaving until the decision was reversed.

Out came Velvet Sky and Angelina Love.  They do their entrance, which is mocked by the Double Duprees.  They take them out and then nail Katred with a double clothesline.  Collins and Dalishus confront them, but "Enter Sandman" plays....

Out comes The Sandman.  He takes them out with the Singapore Cane.  Big "ECW" chant.  He gives The Beautiful People a few cold ones and they celebrate together.

Ring announcer Stephen DeAngelis announced that it was his honor to welcome back to the building Shane Douglas.  Douglas came to the ring in street clothes.  The crowd chanted "ECW" at him.  Douglas told the crowd that he loves them.   Philadelphia chanted "Welcome back."  He said that if you told him in the year 2017 that we'd be standing here in this "glorious building, the most famous Bingo Hall on the Planet", he would have thought you were created.

Douglas said that a long time ago, before some of the people in the crowd were event born, they started a little company called ECW.  He said that he announced earlier this year that this would be his final year in the ring, so he wanted to give his good friend Tommy Dreamer and HOH thank you for giving him the chance to step back inside the ring in front of the best fans on Planet Earth.  The fans chanted, "Thank you Franchise."

Douglas began to break down and said this was a really hard thing to do.  Nick "Magnus" Aldis came to the ring to console him and took the mic.  He said that with all sincerity, he asked him to indulge him for a moment because there's something he needs to say.  Aldis said they have crossed paths from time to time but he's never had the chance to say this and now this may be his only time.  He said that once upon a time, he used to trade VHS tapes of Shane in this ring and he made these fans believe and he made him realize that anyone can make a different.

He said that he just wanted to be able to tell his son that he was in the ring in Philly with The Franchise.  He said that this building is where heroes and icons are made...and it's a sh**hole.  He attacked Douglas and worked him over until a number of officials and Bull James ran out.

Bull James vs. Nick Aldis

James had control early.  Magnus cut him off, nailed a back suplex and a F5 for the pin.  That was it.

Your winner, Nick Aldis!

Way too short as a match but this felt like more of stage one of an angle that hasn't completely revealed itself.

Bull got a nice ovation and fans chanted "Bull" at James as he recovered in the ring.  As he left, the fans chanted "Bullsh**."
