Time for Money in the Bank!
Nakamura was about to do his entrance when Baron Corbin attacked him and beat him with a ladder several times. Well, if you want to piss off the fans, this is the way to do it. Corbin even paid tribute to Sycho Sid and nailed Shinsuke with a camera. Nakamura was helped out by officials as Corbin walked to the ring, smug and smiling.
The referees reluctantly rang the bell. The building was chanting for Nakamura. Everyone brawled all over ringside. Nakamura was carried out. If he makes the big superhuman comeback later, awesome. If not, this is a stupid idea with a capital STU.
Corbin attacked Styles and laid him out with a ladder but was nailed by Dolph. Zayn nailed Dolph and tried to pull a ladder in but was nailed by AJ. AJ and Ziggler battled over ladder ending with Ziggler running up ladder and nailing AJ, only to be hit with Deep Six off the apron by Baron. Styles went for the ladder but Owens ate a superkick and began talking trash. Owens controlled the ring, drilling everyone with the ladder until AJ caught him with a drop toehold. Owens crashed down into the ladder.
Styles went for the Styles Clash but was backdropped over the top by Kevin. Owens began to set up the ladder but his old foe Sami returned to the fray. Owens snapped him throat-first over the top rope. Kevin went to the top rope but was slammed off onto the ladder. Ouch. All sorts of spots where they pulled each other down from ladder or wiped each other out as they attempted to set up the ladder.
Styles and Corbin ended up on the top firing back and forth with punches. Corbin was knocked down as Ziggler scrambled past him on the ladder. He knocked Styles off to the floor. Corbin yanked Ziggler down and climbed up but was snapped off with the Zig Zag, crashing down to the mat.
No sign of Nakamura yet.
Ziggler made it to the top but Sami drilled him and hit a sunset flip powerbomb off the top of the ladder into the ring. That was ridiculously awesome looking. Sami climbed up the ladder but out of nowhere - BOOM - came AJ with the Phenomenal Forearm. Corbin attacked Styles and slammed him viciously into the tables several times. Styles fought back but was chokeslammed onto a ladder outside. Corbin returned and perhaps this is the Nakamura return but no, Sami hits the Helluva Kick.
Sami climbed up but Dolph grabbed him. Sami kicked him off. Owens attacked Sami and apparently its all Owens but AJ hit the scene and pulled him down. WHERE IS SHINSUKE????
Owens and Styles battled to the apron, where AJ nailed a DVDR off the apron through a ladder that was bridged between the announcers and the ringsteps. OUCH!
It appears the battlefield AJ is all clear for Styles to grab the briefcase. Ziggler makes it back and pulls the ladder out from under AJ. AJ is left hanging. He tried to climb up the rope and unlatch the case but fell and crashed into the ring. Corbin attacked Ziggler and laid him out. He set up the ladder and NAKAMURA'S MUSIC HITS!
Shinsuke returns, holding his shoulder. Nakamura attacked and killed Corbin with kicks and strikes. He set up Corbin in the corner and nailed a knee strike that sends him off the apron to the floor. Nakamura kicked Ziggler and nailed a pair of Kinshasas. Zayn returned but was nailed with the reverse exploder. Nakamura is wiping out everyone. He drilled Sami with a Kinshasa.
Nakamura went for a ladder. Owens held onto it, refusing to let him pull it into the ring. Nakamura went to the floor and nailed a Kinshasa on Owens. The crowd chanted "Shinsuke!" He set up the ladder in the middle of the ring. Is this the moment of truth or another twist in the story? Nakamura sets it up and there is AJ Styles on the other side. They face off, staring through the ladder at the other. This is great. They face off ready to fight, moving the ladder out of their way.
They ready themselves and fire back and forth with punches and strikes. It's great stuff. Nakamura stops it with a sleeper. He chokes out AJ a bit and then hits the reverse exploder. Nakamura goes for the Kinshasa but is nailed with a flying elbow mid-charge. Awesome!
They battle atop of the ladder, trying to reach the case and preventing each other with strikes and punches. The crowd goes back and forth with dueling chants. Great moment. They rain down upon the other until Corbin shoved over the ladder, sending them crashing and then ascended to the top and retrieved the briefcase.
Your winner, Baron Corbin!
A hell of a main event with a nice story in the Nakamura comeback, a true spectacular car crash and some awesome sequences as well as the ascension of Corbin, who took a hell of a step towards the top of the company tonight, both with his win and his work tonight.
