WWE SMACKDOWN REPORT: DID EVA MARIE FINALLY WRESTLE?, ZIGGLER SENDS A MESSAGE TO DEAN AMBROSE, TAG TEAMS COLLIDE, WHAT ABOUT THE WYATTS?, DID HEATH SLATER DO ANYTHING?

By Richard Trionfo on 2016-08-16 22:00:00

We start off with Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon talking about how they will show that Team Blue is best at SummerSlam.

They also have Randy Orton sign the contract for his match with Brock Lesnar.

Heath Slater enters and he has a fruit basket from the Farmer's Market.  He gives Randy an apple.  Daniel says the card was a condolence card.  Heath says he watched last week's Smackdown and he reminds Daniel and Shane that he stood toe to toe with Brock Lesnar.

Shane says he will not be disrespected by Heath.

Heath says they have a big pickle and Daniel says there is no pickle.

Randy says he has an idea and he takes a bite of the apple and we go to the opening video.

We are in Austin, Texas and your announcers are Mauro Ranallo, John Layfield, and David Otunga.

Maryse is in the ring and she is here to introduce her husband The Miz.

Dean Ambrose makes his way to the ring before he is officially introduced.

Dean says under normal circumstances he cannot stand Miz' voice, but since we are a few days from SummerSlam . . .

Dolph Ziggler's music plays and he makes his way to the ring.  Dolph apologizes for cutting off Dean, but he is not really sorry.

Dean says he won't need to talk to make his point.

Miz tells Dean and Dolph to whoa things down because this is his show.  This is MizTV.  Miz says he invited them out here to talk, not fight.  Who would have thunk that six months ago that Dolph would be competing for the WWE Championship.  A lot of people had Dolph written off.  He was the WWE version of the Ghostbusters reboot . . . a flop.  You had some early success but you kind of fizzled out.  Your need to prove the cynics wrong, you have had a career resurgence.  What happens if you lose at SummerSlam?  What happens if you fail?

Dolph says he is not worried about after SummerSlam.  He is only worried about Sunday and the WWE Championship.

Dean mentions the laser focused Dolph Ziggler with all of the intensity.  Some say he has turned a corner, but Dean says he does not buy it.

Miz starts to talk and Dolph tells him to shut up.  Dolph wants to know what Dean wants from him.  Do you want him to use the company hasn't gotten behind him as fuel on the fire?  Do you want him to use the critics and naysayers to fuel his fire?  Do you want him to admit that everything that Dean said over the last three weeks wants him to kick Dean's head off his face?  He wants Dean to admit after SummerSlam, you were the last push to put him over the edge for him to win the WWE Title.

Dean says that is real powerful stuff.  Dean wants to play out the fantasy.  Somehow you win.  Whoopdido.  You proved everyone wrong.  Is your life transformed?  No.  Are the critics silenced?  No.  This is when it gets really hard.  It does not get any easier.  The critics and demands are there.  The day you win the WWE Championship is the day the pressure gets raised.  He says that Dolph cannot handle the pressure.  You are happy being the star of your crappy movie.  Let's take a look at how big this chip on your shoulder has gotten.  It will bury you.  You have never felt pressure like this when you try to take the title from him.  You will get beaten and you will get hurt.  You will prove something on Sunday.  You will prove you don't want it bad enough.  You never wanted it bad enough.

Dolph asks Dean if he has it all figured out.  You don't know a damn thing about him.  You do know something.  You know that Sunday you are going to have push through every physical and mental limit, but it won't be enough.  You will not be able to put him away.  You do not have what it takes to put him away.  You will crawl and bleed across the ring and it will not be enough to put him away.  As you look for one more move to show that you can do it . . .

Dolph with a super kick and Dean goes down.

This Sunday you realize that he is that damn good.

We go to commercial.

We are back and we see The Miz talking about Apollo Creed (sic) and his meteoric ride.  Apollo corrects Miz and Miz says he is a Hollywood A Lister and he can remember Apollo's name.  Crews with a power bomb to Miz.

Match Number One:  Konnor, Viktor, Tyler Breeze, Fandango, Aiden English, and Simon Gotch versus Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Chad Gable, Jason Jordan, Zack Ryder, and Mojo Rawley

Gable and Breeze start things off and Viktor makes the tag when they come into the corner.  Viktor with a forearm and he pie faces Gable.  Viktor with a Canadian Lifter for a near fall.  Viktor gets Gable up but Gable escapes and he goes for an O'Connor Roll.  Rawley makes the blind tag and he connects with a shoulder dive and then a splash.  Konnor makes the save when Ryder tags in and goes to the turnbuckles.  All twelve men battle in the ring as we go to commercial.

We are back and Ryder and Konnor are down in the ring.  Jimmy and English tag in and Jimmy with clotheslines and a super kick followed by a Samoan Drop. Jimmy with a running butt splash and Jordan tags in.  English pushes Jimmy out of the way to save Jimmy and Jordan with an overhead suplex.  Ryder with a Broski Boot followed by a Hype Ryder.  Jimmy and Jey with a double super kick to Gotch and then Jimmy with a plancha onto a lot of people.  Gable tags in and him and Jordan hit Grand Amplitude on English for the three count.

Winners:  Chad Gable, Jason Jordan, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Mojo Rawley, and Zack Ryder

Dean Ambrose is in his locker room and he paces around as we go to commercial.

Match Number Two:  Naomi versus Eva Marie

We are told that Eva Marie is delayed in traffic and will not be able to compete and she apologizes.

John takes us away from the disappointment of Eva Marie's continuing problems, we take a look back to Alberto Del Rio's return to the WWE when he faced John Cena for the United States Title.

Alberto is in the back and AJ Styles stops by to say hello and he says that Alberto gets to knock the smug smile of the guy who runs this place John Cena.  AJ says he will have a front row seat tonight.  AJ reminds Alberto about what he did to John.

Alberto asks AJ if he is done living in the past.  Alberto says he has been beating up John Cena for a long time.  He does not need AJ out there so he will do it alone.

AJ points out that he is in the main event of SummerSlam while Alberto is not on the card.

We go to commercial.

We are back with Curt Hawkins facts.  He will be coming soon.

Match Number Two:  Heath Slater versus Randy Orton

Orton with a kick and he sends Slater shoulder first into the ring post.  Orton sends Slater into the other ring post and then Orton with a clothesline and Garvin Stomp.  Orton with punches and then he connects with forearms across the chest.  The referee calls for the bell.

Winner:  Heath Slater (by disqualification)

After the match, Orton sends Slater to the floor.  Slater is thrown over the announce table.  Orton drops Slater on the ringside barrier and hits an IEDDT.  Orton rolls Slater into the ring and he waits for an RKO but then he gets up and walks around Slater.  Orton picks up Slater and hits a German suplex on Slater and does the Brock Bounce.  Orton picks Slater up again and hits another German suplex and then Orton twists to the mat and does the RKO push ups and hits the RKO.

Erick Rowan appears on the TitanTron with Bray Wyatt and Bray tells Austin, they're here.

We go to commercial.
