Highlight Reel with Chris Jericho interviewing Randy Orton

Big pop for Orton. He said for the last nine months, he's been enjoying his time with his wife and his kids but returning to the ring made him realize what's been missing - being out here in front of tghe people.  He said that he's enjoying it so much he doesn't care that he has to share it with Chris Jericho.

Jericho said he should be thanking him because Orton gets to make his return on the Highlight Reel with the best in the world at what he does.  He said that just by being in the ring with Jericho, Orton's being put on a different level.  Orton said he's in a good mood but that could change really quick.   Jericho mocked the RKO out of nowhere and said that if Orton isn't careful, he might get hit with a Codebreaker out of nowhere.

Jericho said he's going to catch Orton up on what's happened since he's been gone.  He reviewed the brand split and that Orton is going to Smackdown while he's going to Raw, kissing up to Stephanie McMahon in the process.   He said the WWE champion is a barbarian who put 69 tacks into his flesh.  He started whining but said it wasn't about him, but about Randy.  He said he wanted to give Randy something that he needed to help him against Brock Lesnar at Summerslam - the gift of Jericho.

Orton began knocking Jericho's haircut, saying he thought for a second he was on the Ellen Degeneres show because of it.  The fans chanted, "Ellen."  Jericho told the fans to shut up and warned Orton that Lesnar was a force of nature who was coming for Orton.  He showed all sorts of footage of Lesnar.  Jericho  talked up what a badass Lesnar was.  Orton said he asked for the match because what would it mean that after nine months, he came back and beat Fandango.  That was a shot at Jericho, who once lost to Fandango at Wrestlemania.

Jericho said that was cute but Lesnar was going to kick Orton's ass and take him to Suplex City.  Orton said he's well aware and he knows Lesnar is going to suplex him over and over to get to Suplex City but it only takes one RKO to get to Viperville "no enhancement needed."  Jericho said that something tells him Orton is going to pay for that little comment.

Jericho said that Brock said that Orton has been avoiding him for 15 years, that he was a coward and was going to tear his shoulder apart.  Jericho passed on that Lesnar said Orton was a stupid idiot.  He mocked Orton and acted like Orton wasn't going to do a "damn thing" to him.  He told Orton to go worry about Lesnar and to stay out of his business.  Orton teased a RKO but then acted like he was just kidding, then snapped it.

Good segment.  Orton looked the happiest he'd been on camera in a LOOOOOONG time.

They showed the Raw and Smackdown rosters in different locker rooms waiting to watch the main event.  As it turns out, Simon Gotch was there and boy was his faced bruised up.

Shane McMahon, Daniel Bryan, Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon are all at ringside for the main event.  Good to see that after they all said they wanted the focus on the talents!  I wonder if that's a sign of a disputed finish leading to two champions.

WWE champion Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns

Huge "Roman sucks" chant at the bell.  As you can imagine, the fans booed him out of the venue for his entrance.

Rollins tried to forge an alliance with Ambrose, but that didn't work out so well for him.   Roman and Ambrose exchanged punches.  Ambrose ducked clotheslines and went for a high cross bodyblock but just bounced off Roman.  Seth attacked Roman and stomped away at him in the corner.  He came off the ropes but was caught by Reigns.  Before Roman could do anything, Ambrose nailed a dropkick and covered Roman for a two count.

Roman manhandled Ambrose and worked him over in the corner.  Ambrose reversed it and kicked away at him.  Seth returned to the fray and attacked Dean, then hit a Slingblade on Reigns.  He covered Dean for a two count.  Everyone battled on the floor.  Seth came off the apron with a flying knee on Dean.   Roman backdropped him into the timekeeper's area.  Dean dove off onto both of them.

They battled back into the ring.  Ambrose covered Reigns for a two count.  Right after the kickout, Rollins came down with a frog splash for another two count.  Rollins went for the Pedigree but Reigns broke free and worked over Rollins as the place booed the hell out of him.  Roman wiped out Dean with a Superman punch.  Rollins came off the ropes but was nailed with a Superman Punch in mid-air.  Reigns went to spear them but they both kicked him.  Roman nailed Rollins with a punch but was caught with a Dean clothesline.

All three battled back and forth.   Rollins and Ambrose finally began beating the hell out of Roman together.    The crowd went nuts for that.  Dean nailed a tope suicida to the outside, driving Reigns into a table.  Rollins nailed a tope con hilo to the floor.  They put Roman through a table.  Seth attacked Dean with a chair and then nailed Roman with one.  Seth went for a Pedigree but Ambrose countered and slammed him into the buckles.

Dean went to the top but Rollins caught him on the top and nailed a superplex into a Falcon's Arrow for a two count.   Ambrose came back and went for a catapult but Rollins landed on his feet on the apron.  Ambrose went for a superplex but Roman slipped underneath and powerbombed him out.  Roman was nailed by Rollins but kicked out.  Roman and Dean fought back and forth.  Dean scored with a backslide for a two count.  Roman nailed him with a Superman Punch, sending Dean to the floor.

Rollins nailed Roman with a Pedigree but Roman kicked up at the last second.  Rollins set up for the Pedigree but Roman tried to power out.  Rollins turned it into a buckle bomb but Roman nailed him with a Superman punch and spear.  Ambrose grabbed Reigns and nailed Dirty Deeds and scored the pin.

Your winner and still WWE champion, Dean Ambrose!

One hell of a main event with tons of great near falls and all sorts of big spots and moves.

The entire Smackdown roster all came out and held up Dean Ambrose, cheering for him as they went off the air.
