COMPLETE ROH-NEW JAPAN 'WAR OF THE WORLDS' TOUR FINALE IN NYC COVERAGE

Cedric Alexander vs. Donovan Dijak w/ Prince Nana

Nana took the mic and demanded the music be turned off.  He said that when Nana comes to the ring with the next ROH champion.  He ripped on the fans.  He said Cedric the Alexander picked the wrong night to have a chip on his shoulder.  He told Dijak to take him out.

They locked up and Cedric was muscled into the corner.   The referee broke them up.  Alexander stood on the ropes to go nose to nose with Dijak.  Alexander went for a shoulderblock to no effect.  He slapped Dijak, trying to upset him  Alexander did a headstands into a rana and  nailed a nice dropkick.  Veda Scott joined Kevin Kelly on commentary.

Dijak lifted and slammed Cedric across the ring.  He began beating Alexander on the mat with right hands.  Alexander fired back with chops but was cut off in the corner.  Dijak nailed a nice running elbow.   Alexander nailed a right hand, followed by an uppercut.  Dijak drilled him across the back with a kneelift and slammed him for another two count.  Nana complained about the count.

Alexander nailed a big boot and several forearms.  Alexander nailed a spinning kick.   Dijak nailed Alexander but was sent to the floor.  Alexander hit a big dive to the floor.  Dijak went for a chokeslam but AlexanDider turned it into a rana and spiked him down on the top of his head.  That was frightening.   Dijak cut off Alexander on the top and chokeslammed him into the ring for a two count.

Alexander and Dijak brawled and nailed some stiff shots.  Alexander nailed a backbreaker across his back.  Dijak cut him off with a lariat.  He went for a DVDR but Cedric escaped and nailed a rollup for a two count.  Dijak nailed another DVDR and brought down Cedric with a big kneelife to the face.  It wasn't pretty but it sure was effective as he scored the pin.

Your winner, Donovan Dijak!

A hell of a competitive match for Alexander to leave on.

Dijak grabbed him after the match but offered his hand.  They shook and showed the Code of Honor.  He and Nana gave Alexander the ring.  The crowd gave him a big round of applause and chanted, "Thank you Cedric."

ROH Tag Team champions The Addiction vs. War Machine

War Machine attacked the champions and powerbombed them into the air into each other.  They brawled around ringside.  Back in the ring, War Machine continued to work over the champs.  Kazarian caught Hanson with a backcracker and he was working over Daniels to break the momentum.  Daniels stomped away at Hanson in their corner.

They double teamed on Hanson with a series of moved.  Hanson was sent into the turnbuckles.   Hanson was worked over but kept kicking up at two.   Tay Rowe tagged in and nailed a dropkick and an over the knee backbreaker on Daniels.  He went for gutwrench suplex but Kazarian made the save.  Kazarian got on his back but Rowe went down to throw him off.  Daniels came off the ropes with a boot, driving Rowe back into the mat.

Daniels missed a splash in the corner.  Rowe speared Kazarian.   Hanson tagged in and nailed a series of charges into opposite corners on the champions but Daniels pulled referee Todd Sinclair in the way.  Hanson cut off Daniels with the leaping sitdown splash out of the corner.  Kazarian tried to use the ROH Tag Team belts as a weapon but nailed Daniels by accident.  Hanson covered him but Kazarian pulled the referee out.  Hanson gave chase but Daniels drilled him with a kick.

Daniels teased a dive but was nailed with a Superman Punch by Rowe.  They nailed Kazarian with their finisher but Daniels nailed Hanson with the belt during the cover and the champions were DQ'd.

Your winners, The War Machine!

The Addiction are still the champions.

War Machine beat them down after the match.

The match was good.  Not a fan of the finish though.

 Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Matt Sydal

Tanahashi got a star's reaction coming out.  They locked up.  They had some nice chain wrestling.  Sydal cut off a sliding kick with a dropkick.  He unloaded with some chops.  Sydal began kicking at Tanahashi's legs, trying to wear him down.  He whipped him into the corner and nailed a rana as Tanahashi stumbled out.   Tanahashi outmaneuvered him and locked in an abdominal stretch.

Tanahashi worked over Sydal in the corner.  Tanahashi went for the Boston Crab and cinched it in, trying to force a submission.   Sydal fought for the ropes but was pulled back to the center of the ring.   Sydal finally made it to the ropes.    He made a comeback with a series of kicks including a nice kick to the face.  Tanahashi grabbed him but Sydal nailed an inverted DDT and hit a standing moonsault for a two count.  Really good match.

The battle continued with Sydal snapping an awesome rana off the top for a two count.  Tanahashi went for a suplex but was pulled into a rollup and several other pinfall combinations for a series of two counts  Tanahashi cut him off with a hard clothesline.  They exchanged chops and punches.  They went back and forth.  Tanahashi hits a big back suplex for a two count.  Tanahashi used a forward roll for a two count.

Tanahashi went to the top but missed the frog splash.  Sydal went for a shooting star press but Tanahashi pulled his knees up.  They went back and forth. Sydal nailed a huge high knee but Tanahashi cut him off and nailed the top rope frog splash for the pin.

Your winner, Hiroshi Tanahashi!

I don't think the finish was ever in doubt but it was still a really well worked back and forth match with some great strikes and exchanges on the mat.  Some really cool near falls as well  Sydal looked great here.
