SYDAL GETS HIS ROH TITLE SHOT AND MORE: COMPLETE RING OF HONOR IN PHILADELPHIA COVERAGE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-03-12 22:55:00

The Young Bucks vs. Motor City Machineguns vs. The Addiction

The Bucks came out with a broom they named "Broomy Omega."  That was funny.

Sabin and Daniels started out.  The Machineguns doubleteamed Daniels.   Kazarian and Matt Jackson tagged in.  There was some funny Bucks silliness with the broom including it doing a high cross bodyblock to Kazarian.   The Bucks took control on Shelley until he tried to fight his way out.  Unfortunatley for him, The Bucks began nailing all their signature offense.  Sabin had to break up the pinfall.  Shelley came back with a double crucfix on the Bucks.

Nick Jackson went to the top but Shelley sent Matt into Nick, cutting him off.  Daniels and Kazarian tagged in and double teamed Matt Jackson with a nice sequence.   They crotched Matt in their corner and Daniels snapped him backwards off the buckles to the ring.

Kazarian grabbed the broom and well, beat it up.  That allow Matt to recover and nail a superick.   Nick Jackson began nailing all sorts of dropkicks.  The crowd went nuts for this and chanted for the Bucks.   This led into a sequence of crazy dives but my vantage point in the building meant I missed a few of them.   The Bucks nailed More Bang for Your Buck for a two count on Daniels.

At this point, everyone went nuts with all sorts of big sequences and near falls.  The Guns drilled Daniels with superkicks.   Kazarian hit the ring and chopped the Guns.  They nailed the Dream Sequence on him.   Sabin nailed a dive to the outside.  The Bucks finished that up with a big Nick Jackson flip dive to the floor.

The Bucks held Daniels upside down for Nick to superkick him.  Kazarian did a dive to the outside but The Bucks took him out.   Back in the ring, The Guns wiped out Daniels in the ring.   The Bucks and The Guns exchanged a flurry of superkicks.  Daniels pulled out a dive to the outside.  Daniels went for Angel's Wings but Jackson escaped and they nailed a double superkick for a two count.  Lots of hot exchanges.  Great stuff.

The Bucks laid waste to everyone with superkicks.   They teased the Meltzer Driver but Daniels shoved Jackson off the ropes into the crowd.  The Addicition then mocked the Bucks' finisher, doing a twist onnThe Meltzer Driver with Daniels' Best Moonsault Ever.

Your winners, The Addiction!

Another killer match with all sorts of great work.

ROH champion Jay Lethal with Taeler Hendrix vs. Matt Sydal

They had a long feeling out process early.  Sydal had Lethal well scouted and avoided some of his early offense.  He cinched in a side headlock and an armbar, controlling Lethal.  Lethal cut him off and worked Sydal over in the corner, stomping away and drilling him with hard chops to the chest.

Sydal was sent to the floor.  Taeler tried to interfere so he shoved her away into the barricade.  That allowed Jay to hit a sliding kick to the floor   Sydal made a comeback and hit a bodypress for a two count.  Lethal kicked him and whipped Sydal hard into the corner.  Sydal avoided a charge and sit several knees into the corner.

Lethal caught him for and went for a sideslam but Sydal slid through and nailed an inverted DDT for a near fall.  Solid back and forth match thus far.  Lethal cut off Sydal on the top and went for a suicideplex but a big right hand sent him falling back into the ring.  Sydal came off with a double knee strike from the top for a close two count.

Lethal caught Sydal and nailed a Lethal Injection.  They battled back and forth with kicks and strikes.  Lethal nailed a series of rights.  Sydal whipped him into the corner and charged but Jay kicked him off.    Sydal perched himself on the top but Jay shoved him and nailed him off the top to the floor, crashing through a table.  The crowd didn't expect that.

Sydal returned to the ring just before he would have been counted out, only to eat a superkick.  He countered and drilled Lethal.  Sydal went for the shooting star press but Lethal pulled his knees up.  Lethal drilled him with his finisher and scored the pin.

Your winner and still ROH champion, Jay Lethal!

A good, hard fought, competitive bout.

Overall, a strong house show from top to bottom.  Good effort from the ROH crew tonight!

A quick note: I arrived a little late to the venue, so while I was setting up, I missed the six women tag.  Jenny Rose's team scored the win.  My apologies.

That's all from Philadelphia!  Thank you for logging into PWInsider.com tonight!
