MAIN EVENT TIME, TAG TITLES ON THE LINE, PREIST VS. YEET, THE WOMEN GET TO TRY AND FOLLOW THAT, TANGA LOA DEBUTS, KO AND ORTON VS. THE BLOODLINE IN A HOLY CRAP SPECTACLE KICKS OFF THE EVENING - FULL BACKLASH BLOG

By Dave Scherer on 2024-05-04 13:08:00

Welcome to my Backlash France blog.  This should be pretty insane.  If you thought the crowd at Smackdown was nuts, well this one is at least as crazy.  They are loud.  They are psyched and a great crowd makes every show better.  There are 11,000 and change there and they sound like 50,000.

We are opening with The Bloodline vs. KO and Randy Orton.

Kevin Owens was the first one to experience them as he came through the curtain to a massive response.  He seemed to love every second of it, and who wouldn't?  Randy came out next and he took it in as the fans were singing his song.  This crowd is LIT.

Corey Graves and Michael Cole are on the call.  They put over the French announcers, who are seated to their right.

Bloodline music hits and boos start before Solo Sikoa and Tama Tanga even come out.  They are accompanied by Paul Heyman. The fans just chanted that they wanted Roman, again.  He has to be a babyface when comes back, right?

These guys are throwing hands all over the place and the bell hasn't even rung yet.  Security is trying to break things up.  KO is stunning security guys.  Nick Aldis came out and said if that's what you want, fine.  No rules.  No DQs.  No countout.  THIS IS A STREET FIGHT!  The fans love it.  They are brawling all over the place.

They have us in a split screen so we can see both fights as they happen.  Randy and KO are in control early. They did a funny spot where KO did a splash on Solo from the barricade to the floor.  Randy then acted like was going to do one and then thought better of it and dumped Tama on the announce table.  We have tons of plunder.  This is great.  The faces are in total control.  But since there are no rules, it may be the debut of Jacob Fatu.

This is great, all action, so far.

The fans wanted a table and the faces obliged, with Randy putting one in the ring while KO set one up pon the floor.  Tama has some welts on the back from the kendo stick.  KO has him on the table on the floor.  FROG SPLASH from the apron, through the table.  KO is going nuts, yelling at Tanga.  This is great.

Back in the ring, Randy was about to get Solo but he got slapped and then Solo did the Samoan Drop through the table.  This is all action.

KO went in the ring and went for the Stunner but Solo wasted him with a clothesline.  Solo is in control and called Tama in.  Randy is out on the floor.

Corey and Cole just mentioned Tanga's New Japan accomplishments.  Ding dong the Dangling Dingle's dead!  Good riddance Vince, you are not missed.

Tanga's back is a MESS.  He took some shots for sure.

He is paying Owens back with trash can lid shots.  They are abusing Owens with Orton out of sight. Tama just went and got a table of his own.  I love how tables are always conveniently under the ring.

KO fought back before Tama could set it up but then Solo went to work on him.  He went to throw KO through the table that was set up in the corner but KO reversed and Solo ate it instead.  Tama laid KO out from behind though.  He went to the floor and got a bunch of chairs.  He was about to use it on KO when Orton made his return.  He nailed Tama with a few shots and then caught him off the ropes in a powerslam and then hit the DDT off of the ropes.  I love this version of Randy, man he is so good.

He hit the RKO but Solo broke it up at two.  Solo took Randy to the floor and then cleared the US announce table.  He headbutted Randy onto the table.  Solo stood him up and was about to go for the spike when Randy hit the RKO on the table!

Back in the ring KO grabbed a chair and went to work on Tonga.  Fans are chanting this is awesome and it is.

KO set up four chairs, blasting Tama with shots in between his handiwork.  He put Tama on the chairs but when he went to the top Tonga met him. They were on the top when KO reversed him and hit a BRAINBUSTER THROUGH THE CHAIRS!  In an understatement of the night, Cole said "Holy Cow."

KO had the pin when Tanga Loa, not Jacob Fatu, made the save.  Heyman is stunned, he has no idea!  Solo came in and picked the bones of KO, hit the Spike, Bloodline wins.

After the match, the three members put up the one.  They made Paul Heyman, who is clearly going WTF as he was selling he had no idea what was going on and was a bit scared.

This was an amazing, awesome spectacle.  I loved every minute of it.  You have to watch it!

And what makes it better is they are setting up a war for when Roman Reigns returns.  Does Jacob Fatu join Solo?  Or Roman?  I can't wait!

We came back to see that KO and Orton haven't made it to the back yet.  They are kind of staggering, selling what they just went through, as they should.

The women get to follow that.  Good luck.

Bayley defends her Women's Title against Naomi and Tiffany Stratton.

Tiffy is out first.  She exudes star, no doubt.  Naomis is out next to a great reaction.

As an aside, if I am a wrestler with my choice as to where I can work, this is where I go.  Getting huge reactions in front of big crowds would fire me up.

The champ is out last to a big reaction from the fans.

Samantha Irvin is doing the intros and as always, she is awesome.

Bayley got a massive pop on her intro.  The fans want Bayley to be their girl.

Early on Naomi and Bayley decided to work together on Tiffy.  Tiffy is freakishly talented, amazingly so for someone that young.....or someone much older.  Tiffy is more than holding her own here, and is even largely in control.

Tiff was rolling until Bayley caught her off of a handspring but Tiff still hit an Alabama Slam that Naomi had to break up to keep the match going.  Naomi speared Tiff through the ropes, to the floor.  They are fighting down there when Tiff into the barricade.  Tiff did the double handspring elbow on Naomi and tossed her into the crowd but as she was mugging for the crowd Bayley came flying to the floor with a tope.  Bayley went over to Naomi but ate a kick and then got laid out on the floor.

Naomi hit the split legged moonsault on Tiff, but Bayley broke it up.  This is excellent.

Naomi had Bayley sitting on the top rope when Tiff bounced her.  Naomi came and got Tiff with a sit out powerbomb.  Bayley is out but Tiff kicked out at two.  Naomi locked on the submission when Bayley came off with the elbow to break it up and get a few nearfalls. This is flying.

Bayley gets a two on Tiff with the Bayley to Belly.  Tiff kicked out.

Bayley charged the corner but Tiff moved and she crashed and burned.  Tiff hit the moonsault but Naomi kept her from going to the top.  Tiff did a Wheelbarrow slam on the US announce table.  Then Tiff did the same thing to Bayley on the French table.  Tiff brought them both in for the moonsault but they moved and hit 3D on Tiff.  Fans are chanting it's awesome and it is.

Now Bayley is facing off with Naomi.  Naomi went for a roll up but Bayley rolled through and retained the title by pinning Naomi.

That was fantastic.  I am glad that Bayley got to keep her belt and Tiffy showed the world how amazing she was.  She is a future champion and star.

After the match, Naomi cheered Bayley and went over and hugged her.  She brought her in the ring and raised her arm and pointed to her.  Great, great stuff.
