Does WWE test for HGH use as part of its Wellness program?
NOTE: Originally I wrote that WWE tests for HGH. They do not, but it is a banned substance. I apologize for the error. You can check out the entire WWE Wellness policy by clicking here.
For months we've been hearing how 1-2 doctors had "cleared" him but the WWE was not going to. Now, we learn how the last doctor Daniel went to painted the true story of how bad it really was/is/will be for the rest of his life. I'm not a medical or legal professional but does Daniel have a case against the Dr. Seuss that cleared him for a return to the ring?
I am not a lawyer either but I believe that if there is no negligence or malicious intent, there would be no case. Plus, Bryan found out about his issue with a new test so it's reasonable to understand that some doctors wouldn't have access to it yet, thus can't be held accountable. As long as they administered the accepted level of care, I don't see the grounds for any case.
Update: A lawyer friend also informed me that since there were no damages, there would be no case.
Thanks for going out of your way to answer so many questions, despite how horrifically insensitive (i.e. the Daniel Bryan one recently) they may be. My question is about Rhyno - he seems to have been AWOL from both NXT and the main roster since his TLC appearance. Has he finished up his WWE run for now?
He is still listed on the NXT roster. I remember when he came in, his deal was that he could take other dates as well. They still have a working relationship.
At the end of WCW, when Bischoff had a deal on the table with Fuscient Media Ventures and Jamie Kellner pulled the plug on the TV time, why didn't Bischoff just take the show to another network? At that time, professional wrestling was hotter than ever with ratings through the roof, surely networks would have been falling over themselves to get WCW Nitro on their network, they could have even moved it to a different night to keep it alive. I know most people believe that the time was right for WCW to die because mistake after mistake was being made and the backstage politics were out of control but, it just seems odd to me that the deal fell through because TNT apparently didn't want wrestling on their network anymore. Surely another network would have taken such a successful show?
He tried but there were no takers at the price he was offering. The problem, at least in part, was that while wrestling drew a good viewership, advertisers looked at the wrestling demographic as undesirable, so that limited what networks would pay to air the genre.
Since the Undertaker doesn’t have an obvious opponent for this year’s Wrestlemania, do you think there’s any chance the McMahons would back up the money truck and bring in Goldberg? Or, since the controversy has significantly died down, reach out to Hulk Hogan? I’m still pulling for Kevin Owens but it seems like that’s sadly a longer-than-long shot at this point.
There have been stories for a while that they reached out to Goldberg. Remember, he already spent a year in WWE and never came close to achieving his WCW popularity. I certainly wouldn't back the truck up for him. If they could get him for a reasonable price, I would have no problem with it. He would have to know he is coming in to lose to Taker. I don't see anyway that they let Hogan wrestle at his age. I also don't see any way that they can reach out to him until his Gawker.com trial is over. They have no idea what else could come out. I would love to see Owens and Taker but for some reason, I just get the feeling that John Cena will make a Superman comeback and get Taker at Mania. Again, it is just a feeling.
