I attended last night's Beyond Wrestling show in Somerville, MA. As always a great great show.
Attendance: About 300-400
Joey Janela vs JT Dunn: Steel Cage match
Really hard hitting, impactful match. No blood and guts but two guys just wailing away on eachoher. JT Dunn gets the win by beating on Janela until he begs him to stop and Dunn just walks out the door
Ryan Galeone w/ Veda Scott vs. Jonathan Gresham
Really good match from two young guys. Galeone is a big guy and Gresham is well...not. But they worked really well together. Galeone gets the win
Matt Riddle vs Chuck O'Neil
Special Referee: Drew Gulak
This was two MMA guys settling it in a wrestling ring with the toughest man that could referee it. They really were laying in shots and submissions. Riddle gets the win
Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa vs. Da Hit Squad
Really good work in this one with Da Hit Squad tossing them around and Ciampa and Gargano meeting them with stiff kicks, elbows, and knees. Our NXT duo get the win with a Super Kick/ Running knee combo
Brian Fury vs Zack Sabre Jr.
This match was billed as "Technical Splendor" and thats what we got. A TON of reversals, counter, and chain wrestling. They told a really good story where neither man had the advance for long. Tit for tat. Sabre gets the win with a submission
Travis Gordon vs Shynron
Typical high flyer match with two of the best flyers today. Lots of fun to watch. Shynron gets the win.
Matt Tremont vs Chris Hero
Another really hard hitting match with them spending a good amount of time abusing eachother on the floor. Hero gets the win after nailing multiple Roaring Elbows. Post match Hero took the mic and said that match made him a fan, but he didnt wanna wrestle him again. I hope they do!
Crusade for Change vs. Team Pazuzu
Good 6 man (felt like 8 there was a ton going on) all sorts of dives and action going on all over the place. Crusade for Change pick up the win with a roll up with a handful of tights.
Submission Match: Tracy Williams vs AR Fox
Really got started before Williams could get in the ring, AR Fox took him out with a dive. Great work with both guys really working eachother over to get the submission. AR Fox gets the win with an Anaconda Vice.
Intergender Tag Team Match/The Final Encounter: Team LoveLee (Kimber Lee and Heidi Lovelace vs. United States Death Machine (Chris Dickinson and Sami Callihan)
This is the final battle in the war between Dickinson and Kimber Lee. While it is uncomfortable to watch men wrestle women, these are two women the Beyond audience know as tough, ass kicking, women. The men were really good at being swarmy, jerk heels. The crowd was fully behind Team LoveLee. Heidi Lovelace was taking most of the punishment. They wrestled the match in such a way that it just seemed like a standard tag match. The women worked as equals to the men. Team LoveLee pick up the win with Kimber Lee hitting a Pazuzu bomb (Razors Edge) on Dickinson off the top rope and getting the pin. An extremely satisfying win and blow off if you've followed this feud over the last year.
Overall another great Beyond Wrestling event.
