SHINSUKE NAKAMURA SAYS GOODBYE: 1/30 NJPW ROAD TO NEW BEGINNING REPORT

PWINSIDER NJPW “ROAD TO NEW BEGINNING” REPORT (1/30) - KORAKUEN HALL

Match #1 - Singles Match: David Finlay vs. Hirai Kawato

The match begins with Finlay and Kawato doing some chain wrestling and nobody gets a clear advantage, Finlay starts to work over the arm of Kawato. Kawato breaks free and misses the inzaguri and Finlay takes advantage to get a near fall, Finlay tries wearing down Kawato with an elbow smash to the upper body. Finlay crushes Kawato with a slam to get a near fall, Finlay gets another near fall after catching Kawato with a leg lariat. Kawato fights back by catching Finlay with some forearm strikes and a drop kick, Kawato charges at Finlay to hit him with a back elbow before throwing him across the ring.

Kawato goes for the Boston crab and he turns it over after a long struggle,but Finlay is able to get to the ropes to break the hold. Kawato nails Finlay with some more forearm strikes and plenty of kicks, Finlay eventually nails a charging Kawato with an elbow smash and he locks in a Boston crab to force a tap out.

Winner: David Finlay

Match #2 - Singles Match: Jay White vs. Yoshi-Hashi

The bout begins with White slapping Yoshi-Hashi after a series of reversals, White then cracks a charging Yoshi-Hashi with an elbow smash. Yoshi-Hashi trips up a running White before bringing him outside of the ring, Yoshi-Hashi then proceeds to throw White into the metal barricades a few times before bringing him back into the ring. Yoshi-Hashi works over the back of White before nailing him with a pump handle gut buster, White tries fighting back and Yoshi-Hashi drops him with an elbow smash. Yoshi-Hashi drapes White along the top rope before nailing him with a drop kick, White again tries fighting back and he eventually drops Yoshi-Hashi with a drop kick.

White then hits Yoshi-Hashi with a series of running European uppercuts that is followed by a suplex, White goes to the top rope and he hits Yoshi-Hashi with a missile dropkick. White again charges at Yoshi-Hashi and he gets hit with a chop followed by a neck breaker, Yoshi-Hashi goes for a power bomb and White counters into a Boston crab. White releases the Boston crab to lock Yoshi-Hashi in the cattle mutilation, White then transitions into the crippler crossface. White then advances into the rings of saturn and Yoshi-Hashi eventually gets to the ropes, White attacks Yoshi-Hashi with forearm strikes. Yoshi-Hashi recovers by nailing a charging White with a lariat, Yoshi-Hashi hits White with a power bomb and rolls through into a pinning combination fort the three count.

Winner: Yoshi-Hashi

Match #3 - Six Man Tag Team Match: Hiroshi Tenzan, Satoshi Kojima & Jushin Thunder Liger vs. Yuji Nagata, Manabu Nakanishi & Tiger Mask IV

The action starts off with Kojima and Nakanishi locking up with nobody getting a clear edge, the two trade shoulder tackles and nobody goes down until Nakanishi drops Kojima on the third attempt. Kojima quickly recovers by dropping Nakanishi with a DDT, Tenzan and Nagata tag in and they go through a shoulder block exchange as well. Tenzan starts working over Nagata in the corner with chops and stomps, Nagata fights back with a series of kicks and knee strikes. Tenzan blocks a mafia kick before dropping Nagata with a shoulder tackle, Nagata regains control of Tenzan before tagging Mask IV in. Mask IV works over Tenzan until Tenzan finds a way to tag Liger in, Liger nails Mask IV with a top rope axe handle strike before attempting a surfboard stretch that gets interrupted by Nakanishi.

Kojima gets the tag and he works over Mask IV and also attacking Nakanishi as well, Liger tags back in and he tosses Mask IV out of the ring. Liger then hits Mask IV with a baseball slide drop kick and he attacks Nakanishi as well, Tenzan tosses Mask IV back into the ring and Liger continues working him over. Tenzan tags in and he knocks Nakanishi off the ring apron as well, Mask IV catches Tenzan with a roll up and spin kick before tagging Nagata in. Nagata comes in and he immediately attacks Tenzan with a series of kicks, Nagata then hits Tenzan with the running boot in the corner. Tenzan fights back by hitting Nagata with a series of chops, Nagata recovers to hit Tenzan with a belly to belly suplex for a near fall. The two veterans stand in the middle of the ring and exchange strikes, Tenzan eventually catches a charging Nagata with an overhead release suplex.

Kojima tags in and he knocks Nakanishi off the ring apron, then he corner Nagata and attacks him with a ton of chops and a flying knee strike. Nagata drops Kojima and he tags in Nakanishi, Nakanishi proceeds to attack all three members of the opposing team. Nakanishi then nails both Liger and Kojima with a plethora pf running clothes lines, Nakanishi gets a near fall after hitting Kojima with a lariat. Nakanishi locks Kojima in the torture rack and Liger eventually breaks it up, Nakanishi rewards him by tossing Kojima onto him. Nakanishi and Nagata nails Kojima with a double team move for a near fall, Nakanishi then hits Kojima and Tenzan with a series of chops. Kojima and Tenzan then hit Nakanishi with the 3D for a near fall, Kojima cracks Nakanishi with a lariat and he gets the three count.

Winners: Hiroshi Tenzan, Satoshi Kojima & Jushin Thunder Liger

Match #4 - Tag Team Match: Chaos (Toru Yano & Kazushi Sakuraba) vs. Bullet Club (Bad Luck Fale & Yujiro Takahashi)

The contest starts off with the Bullet Club jumping the members of the opposing team, the brawl spills outside the ring and wrestlers are getting tossed into barricades. Yano and Fale wind up battling into the crowd, Takahashi and Sakuraba wind up doing the same thing as well. Takahashi hits Sakuraba with a chair as Fale and Yano go back into the ring, Takahashi tags in and he works over Yano as well. Takahashi hits Yano with a running leg drop for a near fall before tagging Fale back in, Fale slams Yano before sitting on him for a near fall. Takahashi tags back in and he crushes Yano with a bunch of stomps, Takahashi locks Yano in the rope before nailing him with a running boot to the face.

Yano then drops Yano and hits him with a running kick to the face, Fale comes in illegally to hit Yano with a splash. Yano eventually drops Takahashi with a hair pull before tagging Sakuraba in the match, Sakuraba works over Takahashi and he tries locking him in various submissions. Takahashi eventually slows him down by dropping him with a back suplex, Takahashi misses a sliding kick and Sakuraba locks him in an arm bar that gets broken up by Fale. Yano tags back in and he immediately removes a pad from the one turnbuckle, Yano then hits Takahashi with a reverse atomic drop. Takahashi tags in Fale as Yano plays to the crowd, Yano starts playing his games with Fale and he eventually knocks him out of the ring.

Takahashi comes in illegally and he nails Yano with a low blow behind the referees back, Fale catches Yano with his finisher for the three count.

Winners: Bullet Club (Bad Luck Fale & Yujiro Takahashi)

After the match, the membersof Bullet Club pose over a fallen Yano while holding hisNever Openweight Six Man Tag Team Title belt.

Match #5 - Six Man Tag Team Match: Kushida, Ryusuke Taguchi & Captain New Japan vs. Los Ingobernables (Tetsuya Naito, Evil & Bushi)

The bout kicks off with Bushi raking the eyes of Kushida after offering a handshake, Bushi blocks a kick from Kushida. Kushida tries attacking Bushi with a dropkick and Bushi trips him up, Naito and Evilboth come in to double team Kushida. Kushida fights back and he tags in Taguchi and Tagichi nails all of his opponents with his flying hip strikes, Taguchi traps Naito in the bottom rope to nail him with running butt attacks. Evil eventually drags Taguchi out of the ring illegally, Evil then wraps a chair around Taguchi’s head and hethrows him into the ring post. Taguchi is tossed back into the ring and Naito hits him with a neck breaker, Evil tags in and he catches Taguchi with a side slam followed by a senton splash.

Bushi tags in and he works over Taguchi with a bunch of stomps and kicks, Bushi then nails taguchi with a middle rope missile drop kick. Bushi removes his shirt and he proceeds to choke Taguchi with it, Bushi hits Taguchi with a dropkick for a near fall. Taguchi eventually fights back after nailing a charging Bushi with a flying hip attack, Kushida tags in and he goes to work on all three of his opponents. Kushida then focuses on Bushi by nailing him with a plethora of kicks followed by a handspring elbow strike, Kushida locks Bushi in the arm bar and Bushi breaks it up by getting to the ropes. Kushida starts focusing his attacks on the left arm of Bushi, Bushi regains control by landing an inzaguri and DDT on Kushida.

Captain gets the tag and Evil does from his partner as well, Captain catches Evil with a flying shoulder tackle and Evil goes down. Taguchi comes in illegally to hit Evil with a flying hip attack, Naito kicks Captain as he runs the ropes and Evil nails him with a fisherman buster bomb for a near fall. Bushi then does a dive out of the ring to take out Kushida, Evil and Naito crush Taguchi with their finisher. Evil then hits Captain with a lariat followed by the STO for the three count.

Winners: Los Ingobernables (Tetsuya Naito, Evil & Bushi)

After the match, Bushi attacks Kushida further by nailing him with a middle rope double knee strike to the face.

Match #6 - Eight Man Tag Team Match: Togi Makabe, Tomoaki Homna, Michael Elgin & Juice Robinson vs. Bullet Club (Kenny Omega, Karl Anderson, Doc Gallows & Cody Hall)

The bout begins with an all out brawl between both teams in the ring, Omega and Elgin battle inside the ring as everybody else battles on the outside. Hall comes in to help Omega and Elgin suplexes them both at the same time, Elgin then attacks both men with a bunch of running clothes lines. Elgin loses control for a short time before nailing Hall with a release German suplex, Elgin picks both Hall and Omega up simultaneously before slamming them to the ground. Homna tags in and he attacks Omega with a bunch of chops and a bulldog, Homna then hits a seated Omega with a running neck breaker. Anderson interrupts a Homna head butt and Homna misses on the second attempt as well, the Bullet Club again attack their opponents and they all battle outside of the ring.

Gallows works over Robinson with a chair on the arena floor, Omega attacks Homna with the chain on Makabe on the arena floor as well. Omega brings Homna back into the ring before tagging Hall in, Hall slams Homna before hitting him with a middle rope splash. Hall mounts Homna before attacking him with a bunch of forearm strikes, Homna tries fighting back and Hall catches him with a drop kick. Gallows tags in and he works over Homa in the corner, Homna tries fighting back and Gallows falls on top of him during a slam attempt. Homna goes for a tag after Gallows misses the avalanche and the Bullet Club take all of his partners out, Homna then slams and nails Gallows with a headbutt before making the tag.

Makabe comes in and he attacks all the members of the opposing team, Makabe drops Gallows with a clothesline for the two count. Gallows eventually drops Makabe by hitting him with a modified spine buster, Omega tags in and Makabe quickly catches him with a power slam. Robinson tags in and he starts working over Omega with a plethora of jabs and a big left hook, Robinson then hits Omega with a running clothesline followed by a cannonball in the corner. Robinson looks to jump off the top rope and Omega catches him with a mid air dropkick, that allows all the members of Bullet Club to team up and work over Robinson. Omega, Gallows and Anderson all splash Robinson simultaneously for a near fall and another brawl between all eight men takes place afterwards.

Homna eventually nails Gallows with a diving headbutt, but then Anderson catches Homna with a stun gun. Elgin picks up Anderson and he power bombs him onto a few people on the arena floor, Omega then takes out Elgin with a reverse hurricarana. Robinson winds up crotched on the top rope and that allows Omega to crack him with a series of knee strikes to get the three count.

Winners: Bullet Club (Kenny Omega, Karl Anderson, Doc Gallows & Cody Hall)

Main Event - Shinsuke Nakamura Send Off Match: Hiroshi Tanahashi, Hirooki Goto & Katsuyori Shibata vs. Chaos (Kazuchika Okada, Shinsuke Nakamura & Tomohiro Ishii)

The main event begins with Goto attacking Okada with strikes as he backs him into the ropes, Goto then drops Okada with a shoulder tackle. Okada tries retreating to the arena floor and Goto throws him back in the ring, Ishii and Shibata get the tags from their partners. Ishii backs Shibata into the corner before a chop and forearm exchange breaks out between the two, Shibata eventually drops Isshii after a pair of boots to the face. Shibata quickly locks the downed Ishii in a figure four leg lock, Ishii rolls with Shibata before getting the ropes to break the hold. Tanahashi and Nakamura get the tags in and they lock up with nobody getting a clear advantage, Tanahashi taunts Nakamura before catching him with an arm drag.

Shibata gets the tag and he teams with Tanahashi to knock Nakamura down with a double shoulder tackle, Shibata and Nakamura go through a series of reversals that ends with Nakamura kicking him in the head. Shibata returns with some kicks as well and Nakamura drops him with an inzaguri, Nakamura drags Shibata to the corner before choking him. Nakamura then hits Shibata with a knee drop before tagging Ishii in, all three members of Chaod momentarily work over Shibata. Ishii assaults Shibata with a ton of chops, Shibata regains control by landing a couple of kicks on Ishii.

Ishii regains control and he makes the tag to Okada, who promptly nails Shibata with a rope assisted swanton bomb. Nakamura tags in and he controls the head of Shibata before Okada gets the tag in, Okada works over Shibata before getting caught with a kick to the upper body. Goto tags in and he takes over on Okada by nailing him with a spin kick for a near fall, Goto brings Okada to the corner to assault him with more strikes. Okada fights back by catching Goto with a DDT that was followed by a running European uppercut, Okada then hits Goto with a flapjack before tagging Nakamura in.

Nakamura proceeds to attack Goto with a bunch of kicks, but Goto fights back by dropping Nakamura with a clothesline. Tanahashi tags in and he gets into a forearm strike exchange with Nakamura, Tanahashi eventually drops Nakamura with a flying forearm strike. Tanahashi goes to the middle rope before catching Nakamura with a swanton bomb, Tanahashi misses a flying forearm and he gets caught on the top rope. That allows Nakamura to nail him with a running knee strike and a follow up suplex, Shibata and Goto interferes to take out Nakamura with a series of moves. Tanahashi goes for the frog splash and Nakamura blocks it by getting his knees up, Nakamura goes for the running knee strike and Tanahashi counters with a sling blade.

Ishii and Shibata get the tags and Ishii works Shibata over in the corner, Shibata then hits Ishii with a series of running boots and dropkicks to the head. Shibata then hits Ishii with a head and arm suplex for a near fall, Ishii recovers and he catches Shibata with a suplex of his own that is followed by a running clothesline. Goto interferes and attacks Ishii as he was setting up for a power bomb, Goto fails on the next interference as he accidentally clothes lines Shibata. All three Chais members then attack Shibata with a series of triple team maneuvers, all six competitors then take the opportunity to rotate taking each other out. Ishii then hits Shibata with a lariat to get the near fall, Shibata gets up and he drops Ishii with a spinning back fist before applying a triangle choke. Nakamura breaks that up before fighting Tanahashi on the arena floor, Shibata applies the sleeper hold to Ishii and Shibata releases it before kicking him in the chest. Okada hits the ring and he helps Nakamura hit Shibata with a running knee strike, Ishii hits Shibata with a brain buster to get the three count.

Winners: Chaos (Kazuchika Okada, Shinsuke Nakamura & Tomohiro Ishii)

After the match, Hirooki Goto attacks Kazuchika Okada on the arena floor and Kenny Omega makes his way to the ringside area. Omega grabs the microphone and he wants Shinsuke Nakamura to admit he is leaving New Japan because he is scared of him. Hiroshi Tanahashi grabs the microphone and he says something in Japanese that pops the crowd big time, Omega eventually backs away and leaves the ringside area. The members of Chaos embrace before Nakamura grabs the microphone and says some stuff in his native tongue. After Nakamura finishes speaking, he goes around high fiving the crowd before all the members of Chaos hit the ring and celebrate his final NJPW appearances. Nakamura gets on the microphone once more before Yoshi-Hashi and Okada each carry him around the ring and ringside area. Nakamura is then shown speaking to reporters in the backstage area as the show comes to a close.
