THE BEST THING THAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO THE MONDAY NIGHT WAR, TWO HOURS OF NXT?, ANDERSON-TNA-NEW JAPAN AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-01-23 10:00:00

Obviously, WWE won the Monday Night War.  Eric Bischoff recently wrote on Twitter that had WCW won it would have been the worst thing for the industry.  This made me wonder, who would you have preferred to win?

I would have preferred neither side won and they were still fighting it out.  It would have been far better for the industry.

Standard long time reader, love the site etc. My question is a simple one--with the influx of veteran talent being signed to NXT and the fact that the brand is growing so quickly, it seems like there may be too much going on for the brand to achieve its primary focus: getting new talent experience and exposure. They might get experience at their touring house shows, but no real TV time. With that being the case, how likely do you think it is we'll be seeing NXT going to a 2 hour weekly show in the near future? It only seems the next logical step.

It's possible. I think it's FAR more likely they will be running two live shows a night.  They are stocking up talent for a reason.

Are Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa signed to WWE deals?

As of today, no, but I can see that changing.

I remember you reporting a couple weeks ago that WWE couldn't sign or even "officially" have contact talks with Karl Anderson given that he's still under a NJPW contract. If TNA is telling the truth and they got Anderson to sign something saying he was signing with TNA can't NJPW sue for contract tampering?  Maybe I'm mis-reading something but if he couldn't sign a WWE contract given that he was still with NJPW how can TNA legally get him to sign an agreement from them? Even if it was unofficial isn't that still against the law?

It certainly sounds like such, doesn't it?  It all depends on whether New Japan would want to pursue the issue legally.

Where is Johnny Rodz?

The same place he's been for years, Brooklyn, NY training wrestlers!
