WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO MAKE VINCE MCMAHON REALIZE HIS WAY ISN’T WORKING, SETH ROLLINS VS. DANIEL BRYAN, SASHA VS. CHARLOTTE AND MORE

Is it just me or was this week's NXT main event, the women's title match between Bayley and Eva Marie, more entertaining and suspenseful than the entire WWE title tournament that culminated at Survivor Series? Yeah, it was overbooked to a huge degree but also well laid out, made Eva Marie look strong in her actions and actually let me doubt about Bayley being able to defend her title against what seems to be NXT's corporate diva (with creative "shamelessly" using the bad reputation of Total Divas among the more die-hard fans to their advantage). What's your take on this? Am I just blinded by my support for NXT's way of booking?

I don’t think it was just you. I haven’t heard a lot of positive things from people that follow the site about the way that WWE booked the Title tournament.

I just watched a video of Seth Rollins rehabbing his injury and declaring at the end that he's coming back to re-claim his title. Do you think it's somewhat telling that we have not seen such a video from Daniel Bryan?

As I talked about yesterday, brain injuries (which concussions are) can be a lot harder to diagnose and gauge recovery from than broken bones or torn muscles. Rollins just has to rehab from surgery and the odds are very, very good that he will return at 100 percent. The same can’t be said for a brain injury.

With the injuries to Orton and Cesaro, which wrestler should be pushed to the main event level that isn't being pushed currently?

I would love to see Kevin Owens get the push, as a real heel, not the cowardly kind that Vince McMahon pushes. If they booked Owens as a heel that is strong, but also cheats to win at times, it would make the chase of a babyface going after him (such as Roman Reigns) a much more compelling story. One of the reasons that WWE has problems getting babyfaces over is that they have booked the heels so badly. That needs to change.

Why isn't Sasha Banks the primary challenger to Charlotte's Divas Title right now?

WWE decided that Charlotte’s first program as champion would be with Paige. I am fine with that. The key is who will be next. I think it should be Sasha, but not only that, it should be the Sasha from NXT. WWE has totally blown it with the Divas Revolution but that could change if they put Charlotte and Sasha in the positions that they were in NXT and allow them to work the kind of matches in WWE that they worked in the past.

To get to where he is today, VKM must have some business savvy, and some sense of how to make money. So why is he so deaf and blind to all that is going on around him. From what I understand, no one can tell him anything (except maybe Kevin Dunn), because he believes that what he wants us to see is what we will accept, despite all indications proving otherwise. Why do you think he is so desperately holding on to the 80's? And since a common knowledge is that he likes big guys, why has he not given pushes to a lot of big men on the roster? Will it take his death to change things for the better, or do you think there is anyone who can get through to him?

Vince has always had his way of doing things, his view of how the business should be presented. When it was new and fresh, and he was the first one to go national, it was a big success. Then, over time, business waned and by the mid-nineties he was losing viewers. It got so bad that his company became number two, to WCW. At that point, due to him losing the war, he suddenly became open to presenting product in a way that was outside of his way of doing things, basically because he had no choice. The result? The Attitude Era. Unfortunately, there is no one left from a competition standpoint that can put him on that defensive now. I have said before that I feel Vince would rather leave money on the table and present the product he wants us to see rather than leave his comfort zone and make money presenting a product that he doesn’t. The only entity that I could see forcing him to change the way he does things is NBC Universal, since they pay the rights fees for Raw and Smackdown. Luckily for Vince, The USA Network is slumping too, so the viewers that WWE brings in are more important to them than ever. But that could change if, for example, USA decided to blow up their current strategy and start over, making WWE expendable. Of even if they don’t decide to do that, when WWE’s next TV deal comes around, they could take the position that since WWE has lost 25% of their Raw viewership, they only want to pay 75% of what they are paying WWE now. Other than that, it will take him coming to the realization that he needs to change. I am not overly confident we will see that happen any time soon. To be fair, he can point out the company’s many successes. But to me, they could be doing much better.
