World Tag League Day 5 Results, November
27:
This was a fixed camera show.
Ryusuke Taguchi, Yohei Komatsu & Sho Tanaka defeated Jay White, David Finlay &
Tiger Mask IV. Taguchi pinned White after the Dodon.
Matt Taven, Michael Bennett, Toru Yano & Gedo defeated Juice Robinson, Jushin
Thunder Liger, Mascara Dorada & KUSHIDA. Taven pinned Robinson after The
Kingdom hit him with Hail Mary.
Karl Anderson, Doc Gallows, Bad Luck Fale, Tama Tonga & Cody Hall defeated
Captain New Japan, Hirooki Goto, Katsuyori Shibata, Yuji Nagata & Manabu
Nakanishi. Anderson pinned Captain after a Gun Stun and Magic Killer.
Block B:Tetsuya Naito & EVIL (6) defeated Hiroyoshi Tenzan &
Satoshi Kojima (2). This was very good. EVIL spent a lot of time in the
ring working over Tenzan. Both Tenzan & Kojima got to make comebacks. Kojima hit
a Brainbuster on Naito and he and Tenzan hit a TenKoji Cutter, but the pin was
broken up by EVIL. EVIL took out Tenzan with an STO. EVIL then hit a rolling
elbow on Kojima, but that didn't sit well with Kojima who hit EVIL with a
Lariat. Naito then distracted the ref, BUSHI misted Kojima. Naito then low
blowed Kojima and hit Destino to get the win. This is the third win for Los
Ingobernables who at the minister are looking like a favourite to win the block.
Block A: Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma (2) defeated Michael
Elgin & Hiroshi Tanahashi (4). This was great. Lots of really good action in
this one. Elgin & Makabe was a really interesting match up. Makabe just stood
there and took everything Elgin had. Tanahashi & Elgin seem to be enjoying the
hell out of their time as a team. They are starting to put together great team
work. Elgin threw Tanahashi over the top with a Gorilla Press and he Alabama
Slammed Tanahashi into Honma. There were some great false finishes and sequences
towards the end. Makabe & Honma took out Tanahashi with a Doomsday Kokeshi.
Elgin put up a fight before falling to a Kokeshi and a King Kong Knee Drop.
Honma & Makabe pick up their first points to keep their quest alive. This is
well worth checking out.
Block A: Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian (4) defeated
YOSHI-HASHI & Kazuchika Okada (4). This was a good match. Pretty much what
you'd expect and nothing out of the ordinary. It came down to YOSHI vs Daniels.
Daniels went for the BME, YOSHI moves and Daniels landed on his feet. Okada
popped up behind him and went for the Rainmaker, but Kaz got involved and The
Addiction took out Okada with a high/low and hit Celebrity Rehab on YOSHI to
take the points.
Block B: AJ Styles & Yujiro Takahashi (2) defeated Tomohiro
Ishii & Shinsuke Nakamura (0). Great main event. This was the first
meeting of Styles & Nakamura ahead of their Wrestle Kingdom match. They had some
great exchanges, especially near the end, but they didn't give too much away.
Styles & Ishii also did some great stuff, that's another match that hasn't
happened in NJPW before. The last few minutes were a lot of fun. Nakamura hit
Styles with a sliding Boma Ye, followed up by a sliding lariat from Ishii for a
near fall. Ishii then folded Styles up with a lariat, but that wasn't enough
either. In the end Styles hit Bloody Sunday & The Styles Clash on Ishii to get
the win.
The four Tag League matches were all fun and are worth checking out. You can
skip the rest.
