NJPW World Tag League Day 2 Results, Nov 22

This was a fixed camera house show, so nothing of huge consequence happens outside of the tournament matches, so here's just a brief recap of what happened.

The whole show is available now on NJPW World.

Mascara Dorada, Ryusuke Taguchi & Yohei Komatsu defeated Sho Tanaka, Tiger Mask IV & KUSHIDA

The usual fun action packed opener you'd expect from the Jr heavyweight names.  Dorada pinned Tanaka with the Dorada Screwdriver.

Frankie Kazarian & Christopher Daniels defeated Jay White & Katsuyori Shibata

This was a really interesting mix of names and it turned out to be really good.  The Addiction heeled it up while working over White.  The crowd didn't quite know what to make of the antics of Daniels & Kazarian.  Shibata got the hot tag and hit both with corner dropkicks.  He and White make a great team.  He helped White deliver a corner dropkick.  White set Shibata up for the PK, but Daniels took out Shibata on the floor allowing The Addiction to finish off White with Celebrity Rehab

Michael Bennett, Matt Taven & Gedo defeated Cody Hall, Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson

This was pretty good.  Incase anyone hasn't noticed, The Kingdom are really good.  Taven in particular looked really good here.  Anderson renewed his "interest" in Maria.  Hall was impressive when he muscled up Bennett for a Razors Edge.  A distraction from Anderson & Maria caused Bennett to escape.  The Kingdom hit Hail Mary on Hall to get the win.  That was an impressive sight as Bennett had to muscle Hall up.

EVIL & Tetsuya Naito w/BUSHI defeated Captain New Japan & Hirooki Goto

Los Ingobernables are so great as a unit now.  They broke every rule that they could here.  It was obvious who was getting pinned.  Goto did his best, but a distraction from BUSHI allowed Naito to low blow Goto while EVIL hit the STO on Captain to get the win. After the match Los Ingobernables attacked the young boys and Goto, and then stood over a fallen Captain New Japan.

Block A

Yuji Nagata & Manabu Nakanishi (2) defeated Tomoaki Honma & Togi Makabe (0)

There was a lot of shouting, plodding, shoulder blocks and chops in the first half of this.  Nakanishi really shouldn't be in the ring anymore.  He fell getting into the ring at one point.  This picked up at the end with Nagata & Honma going at it.  Honma missed a diving Kokeshi.  Honma survived some double team attack.  He fell to Nagata's back drop driver hold.

Block B

Satoshi Kojima & Hiroyoshi Tenzan (2) defeated Yujiro Takahashi & AJ Styles (0)

This was okay.  It was never gonna be fantastic with both Tenzan & Takahashi in the one match.  At one point Styles almost looked pissed off at Yujiro's clumsiness.  Styles & Kojima could have done some great stuff together, but they weren't in the ring much together.  Kojima pinned Yujiro after the Lariat.

Block A

Kazuchika Okada & YOSHI-HASHI (2) defeated Tama Tonga & Bad Luck Fale (0)

This was good.  Tama Tonga really worked hard here and again really stood out.  He had some great exchanges with Okada and really made you believe he might cause an upset.  YOSHI took care of Fale on the outside while Okada hit Tonga with the Rainmaker to pick up the victory.  It's nothing you need to go out of your way to see, but good nonetheless.

Shinsuke Nakamura, Tomohiro Ishii & Toru Yano defeated Juice Robinson, Hiroshi Tanahashi & Michael Elgin

This was a great main event.  There was one funny spot where Yano couldn't recover from a Robinson airplane spin.  Ishii & Elgin beat the hell out of each other.  There better be a rematch between them coming sometime soon.  This was Robinson's first NJPW main event and he got to look great against Nakamura in the closing minutes.  Yano low blowed him and Nakamura hit a Boma Ye, but Elgin & Tanahashi made the save.  Ishii held up Robinson so Nakamura could hit and awesome running enzuigiri and finally finished him off with the Boma Ye.

There's nothing must see on this show, but it's an easy watch if you have the time.

The card for tomorrow’s show (Nov 23), listed as having “next day delivery” on NJPW World is:
