THE WORLD TITLE SERIES, WHY TNA PULLED PLUG ON NEW ORLEANS LOOP, THE COMPANY'S MAJOR FOCUS GOING FORWARD AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2015-10-10 11:26:55
The TNA title situation and tournament is something that had been planned way back in July.  I don't know that the plan was always for Matt Hardy to get the belt but TNA planned for the EC3 title loss and eventual injunction and having the World Title Series all along.  All of the backstage discussions were filmed back in July and the material with the wrestlers on the stage was shot in the Impact Zone when no fans were in the building.  The company should be commended for having the plan in place for so long and it never leaking out.

A number of readers have asked about the TNA cancellation of the "Haunted Halloween" tour and what it means for the company's long term since yet again, there are shows canceled.  In speaking to a number of people in the company, the shows were not canceled because of poor advances or financial issues.  I was told that TNA plans in terms of taping material changed and since they didn't need to film, the decision was made to scrap the weekend instead.  Personally, just for the morale of the wrestlers and for appearance's sake, I think TNA should have gone forward with the loop but that's just my perspective.  The wrestlers I've spoken with were obviously not happy.  They are fine with getting partial pay for the tour but to a person, they'd rather be performing than sitting home.

The forthcoming India tour is the next big focus for the company.  Based on how things are going, India is going to be a major, major market for the company over the next several years.    Internationally, TNA is doing very well when it comes to TV clearances, to the point that if and when certain deals roll over, they could survive without even having a major domestic clearance.  That said, those within the company remain very optimistic that TNA will land on a new cable network domestically in 2016 and that 2016 will be the launching point for the company being in a much better position overall.

There's been a lot of praise about Shane Helms as an agent for the company since coming in, feeling he's bringing a fresh perspective to how they present their matches and put them together.  Helms was the agent for the Bound for Glory PPV main event.  Tommy Dreamer is also doing a lot of agenting and put together the Gauntlet at the PPV.

TNA has released new Jeff Hardy hats and more at www.shoptna.com.
