The storyline has been that since losing the TNA championship at Bound for Glory, EC3 has filed an injunction preventing Hardy from appearing on TV after alleging Dixie Carter and The Hardy Boys were in collusion to take the belt from him. Earlier today, Hardy noted on Twitter that there wouldn't be a court date scheduled for months, forcing him to make a decision of either keeping the belt and screwing the fans out of their champion or relinquishing the belt.
So, the TNA title is effectively vacant. I am told this has been a storyline plan in place since last July and that this week's TNA TV will follow up on the storyline.
