BY THE NUMBERS: LOOKING AT THE WEEK IN WRESTLING ON TELEVISION FROM WWE, TNA, AND ROH

By Richard Trionfo on 2015-10-06 07:58:06
As we start a few weeks where shows will not be airing qualifying episodes, it was obvious that the totals would go down from a week when there are seven television shows airing in a week. Without Ring of Honor this week and five of the six shows seeing a drop from last week, there was a drop of 53 minutes from last week. The 149 minutes of wrestling this week was the lowest weekly total since the week of May 18th, which was the last time there was less than 100 minutes of wrestling in a week.

Raw won the week with 43 minutes of wrestling, down 10 minutes from last week. This was the eighth straight win for Raw. Smackdown finished in second place for the second straight week and was down four minutes from last week to 28 minutes. Impact finished in third place with 26 minutes of wrestling, down five minutes from last week.

NXT was the only show to see an increase from last week and finished in fourth place with 23 minutes of wrestling, up two minutes from last week. Main Event finished in fifth place and returned back into the teens with 19 minutes of wrestling, down three minutes from last week. Superstars was able to finish in sixth place, but unfortunately still finished in last place with ten minutes of wrestling. This was down one minute from last week.

For the first time since the week of May 18th, we only had one ten minute match. This was the first time since the week of July 6th that the number of one minute matches equaled the number of ten minute matches. The one minute match was only the second time in the last six weeks that there has been a one minute match.

This week saw us pass the 45,000 minute barrier. We also passed the 8,000 match barrier.

This week’s episode of Ring of Honor television was a Road Rage feature show featuring matches from the Field of Honor Show in Brooklyn. The matches on the show were Jay and Mark Briscoe versus Alex Shelley and KUSHIDA that was 12 minutes and Roderick Strong versus Kazuchika Okada that was 16 Minutes.

The times for the matches on the Madison Square Garden Special on the WWE Network were:

Rusev and Sheamus versus Dolph Ziggler and Randy Orton: 9 Minutes
Stardust versus Neville: 7 Minutes
Nikki Bella, Brie Bella, and Alicia Fox versus Paige, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte: 8 Minutes
Kevin Owens versus Chris Jericho: 8 Minutes
D-Von Dudley and Bubba Ray Dudley versus Kofi Kingston and Big E: 7 Minutes
Brock Lesnar versus Big Show: 4 Minutes
John Cena versus Seth Rollins: 23 Minutes
