Will the WWE suffer in the ratings due to John Cena taking time off and not defending the US Title on TV?

It all depends. Cena has his fans, and he is a draw, no doubt. But the flip side is, they are down about 800,000 viewers of Raw since June. Obviously I can’t say why all of them tuned out, but I do think it’s fair to assume that a solid percentage of them did so due to being sick of the repetitiveness that comes with John Cena’s work.

Would you agree that Cesaro vs. Cena battling over the US Title would be worthwhile?

The matches would be great, that much I know. I only think it would be truly “worthwhile” if Cesaro won the feud and Vince McMahon finally got it through his head that the fans like the guy and he finally elevated him. Otherwise, it would just be another guy fed to Cena.

Rollins vs. Kane for the World Heavyweight Title is not an intriguing matchup, why doesn't the WWE provide Rollins with suitable challengers? Booking team and Vince haven't developed worthy challengers and Rollins' title reign is a joke.

I wish I had the answer. I love Kane and respect all that he has done, but he is not the guy that should be in the WWE Title picture at this point in his career. As you said though, Vince has done a terrible job of both creating new characters as well as book Rollins as a true top guy. And just in case you didn’t know Rollins isn’t the top guy, as I type this on Sunday Vince has had Cena beat him THREE times on televised shows just to hammer it home. That is not how you protect a talent.

Do you believe that providing the occasional title change on a WWE Network Live Event Special or on RAW/Smackdown would change the viewership for WWE?

I don’t have a problem with them doing it but I don’t believe that the reason most of the people that have stopped watching have chosen to do so because there haven’t been title changes. As mentioned above, I think it’s due to the lack of compelling storylines and characters.

WWE has relied so much on veterans coming back for matches and/or angles over the years, but looking at, why does the WWE rely so much on veterans even though they aren't making a dramatic difference in the ratings and they aren't allowing the mid-card talent to succeed?

Vince has a habit of going back to those that he trusts. He also has shown a trust problem in committing to younger talents, leaving him very few options other than going back to the well with older guys.
