TNA BOUND FOR GLORY 2015 TIP SHEET

By Dave Scherer, Mike Johnson & Richard Trionfo on 2015-10-04 00:48:16

Impact Wrestling presents Bound for Glory on Sunday night on pay per view. We will have full coverage of the broadcast here on the site. Here is our take on what will happen.

TNA World Champion Ethan Carter III vs. Drew Galloway vs. Matt Hardy

Dave: The build for Galloway winning has been decent but with Matt in the match, I think the booking went out the window. Matt just GOT Title shots! But at least with him in the picture, they can find a way to have EC3 retain the belt. He is by far the best thing in TNA right now. I don't want a Title change. Maybe Tyrus comes in and does the count with Jeff Hardy's hand after he takes a bump.

Mike: The Matt addition is so out there, I wonder if he's going to win, especially since they are in the Carolinas. I would personally prefer to see EC3 eek his way out with the belt and have Galloway and Hardy go after each other coming out of this as they'd have some great chemistry in the ring. I feel like they added Matt to get some buzz at the last second and I don't blame them, especially since they were able to keep it quiet, but logically, I was scratching my head. This is either going to be real good or a complete cluster. I'm hoping for the former.

Richard: The way this match got set up makes no sense. Drew wins the Number One Contender Match against the other four people who helped save TNA from the evil Global Force Wrestling. Then Drew and Matt are put in a tag match against Carter and Tyrus, but then they add that if Matt and Drew win, Matt is added to the match. Why didn't Drew lose for his team so he didn't have to worry about the 'Not even be involved in the finish of the match' situation due to the Triple Threat Match concept. Did they add Matt so he could win in his home area? Did they add Matt so neither Drew nor Carter have to take the loss? With Jeff Hardy as the guest referee, that throws another wrinkle into the Carter Conspiracy Theory against Ethan. Carter has been one of the most consistent things in TNA in a good way and that is why I think that is why he retains. This should be a good match and with this being TNA, you have to think that Jeff will likely do something to screw over Matt.

TNA Tag Team Champions The Wolves (Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards) vs. Trevor Lee and Brian Myers

Dave: The match should be good but they just vanquished GFW. The rematch rule doesn't come into play when guys don't actually work there. The Wolves should win if TNA is truly done with GFW. If they lose, it would mean that they aren't.

Mike: They can explain it by saying the GFW team gets an automatic rematch but this should be The Wolves' highlight reel to finally vanquish their opponents. In terms of working a match, this could be one of the stronger matches on the show.

Richard: This should be a really good tag match and with this on pay per view, they can have more time to showcase what all four men could do. While Eddie and Davey are one of the top tag teams, I think this match will be a coming out party, on a national PPV level, for Trevor Lee. If you have ever seen him wrestle, you know how good he is at such a young age. I hope he does most of the work for the challengers because he will definitely get the crowd into the match. With the 'GFW' affiliation of Lee and Myers, I doubt they will win and they cannot pinball titles too much.

TNA Knockouts Champion Gail Kim vs. Awesome Kong

Dave: It was bizarre that with this match coming, we saw the Doll House and Beautiful People on Impact. Huh? Anyway, I love both of them as workers. The problem with putting the belt on Kong is that she is so dominant, no one should be able to beat her if it were a shoot. That creates booking problems. So I see run-ins galore and Gail retains.

Mike: They have always had great chemistry in the ring and have easily had the best matches for the women in TNA. If they can recapture some of that, this could be awesome but I'm not sure that is going to happen. Kim just got the belt and she should retain. If this isn't one of the better matches on the show because they are given a bad finish or a lack of time, TNA has no excuse.

Richard: I really enjoyed Gail's match against Jade recently on Impact. I remember being in Orlando for their first matches years ago. While I don't expect the same type of match between these two women, I think it will be good. Will they let these two women go one on one without any distractions or will we see The Dollhouse or Beautiful People try to get involved in the match? I think Gail should retain. My biggest fear about this match is that commentary will use some of the buzzwords that WWE uses and turn them against WWE. People in glass houses . . .

TNA X Division Champion Tigre Uno vs. Andrew Everett vs. Manik vs. DJ Zema in an Ultimate X Match

Dave: Does it really matter? This is a throw in match for sure. What the hell, since Everett is new let's have him make a splash with a win.

Mike: I am happy to see Everett getting a look here, since I've liked his work in PWX in the Carolinas. I feel like this is going to be the car crash match and I am sure the bumps will be fun but the reality is a lot of these talents have been overexposed on TNA TV. TNA could really use some fresh blood in the division. Let Tigre retain because a title change isn't going to matter.  TNA needs to replenish this division, STAT.

Richard: I wonder if they will start off the show with this match because of the type of spots that we will see that can get the crowd pumped up for the rest of the show. Just like with Trevor Lee, I hope Andrew Everett will get a chance to show TNA fans what independent fans know about how good Everett is. Now that Manik is no longer anchored to the Revolution, it should allow him to flourish and Ultimate X is probably going to benefit him the most since he has probably been in the most Ultimate X matches of the four. DJ Zema has been a good complement for recent X Division matches on Impact. Unfortunately the X Division is in flux and if Tigre retains, it might not help things. I would give the title to Manik as a reward for being in the Revolution.

Bound For Gold Match for a Future TNA Title Match featuring Mr. Anderson, Abyss, Mahabali Shera, Tyrus, Robbie E, Jesse Godderz, Aiden O'Shea, Eli Drake, and Chris Melendez

Dave: OK, he do I want to see in a Title match out of this group? Who is worthy? Well, we haven't even see O'Shea yet so he's out. Of the rest, the only guy that interests me is Drake, so let's have him win.

Mike: I HATE Gauntlets so much that my eyes glazed over when this was announced. Most of the names here are guys with little upward mobility given how they have been booked.  I honestly would have preferred they did a six man tag with some and left the rest off.  Shoehorning everyone onto the show doesn't help them beyond the check,  All that said, I expect Shera will win, given that TNA is heading to India to tape TV. This is the wrong place to debut O'Shea and WHY is Tyrus fighting for a title shot when his man EC3 is champ?

Richard: It looks like TNA has decided to take the WWE concept that four or five of the thirty people in the Royal Rumble legitimately have a chance to win and they put nine of the twenty-five without a chance in this match. If this is for a World Title match, do any of these people have any justification to earn a title match? If Drew wins the title, Eli Drake winning is intriguing due to their past alliance. Tyrus winning would be interesting if EC3 retains the World Title. The random gimmick match winner generator button has been pushed and the generator has spit out the following name: Chris Melendez. Other than Shera, is there anyone with a positive push and unless Shera is going to search for a pulse on his arms for 20 minutes and not wrestle, what would a match for the title be like with him?

King of the Mountain Champion Bobby Roode vs. Lashley

Dave: I expect this to be really good. It doesn't make much sense to take the Title off of Roode this quickly.

Mike: This may be the best match of the night. Unless they are sending Lashley off to defend the belt in Bellator, Roode should retain.  This was really good when they faced off for the TNA title and I expect more of the same.

Richard: What I am looking most forward to is the possibility of a 'Let's Go Bobby' chant where neither wrestler knows who it is for (and please let them ask the crowd to clarify). This should be a good match and Roode should do something to get people to wonder why he has been in such a negligible role on television over the last few weeks. Roode can get thrown around by Lashley to make things look good until he takes advantage of the situation and he finishes Lashley with a Roode Bomb.

Kurt Angle vs. Eric Young

Dave: I couldn't care less about this. Frankly, since Angle has already said he won't do a new deal when his contract expires he should do the job, but I think he will win.

Mike: Angle will win with the Anklelock.  This return is so cold, it's a TV dinner.

Richard: You have the two 'craziest' people in TNA going head to head in a match that should have a pole and a straitjacket involved, but it appears to be a straight wrestling match. Young thought he got rid of Angle, but Eric found out that the Olympic Hero is back. I got to see a psychotic brawl on Friday night at Shine and I would not be surprised if this is on the same level. If this is going to be one of Angle's last matches in the company, he is not going to do anything less than 100%. Since the odds are against him, I expect to see Young win the match, but maybe Angle gets some revenge and has a certain Sarge help him out.
