HULK HOGAN'S WORST FEARS MAY SOON BE TRUE

By Mike Johnson on 2015-09-24 16:51:42
The Tampa Tribune is reporting that a number of media outlets, including the AP, have requested that the Pinellas County Court in Tampa, Florida unseal records related to the Hulk Hogan lawsuit against Gawker media over presenting a one minute excerpt and review of his leaked sex tape with Heather Clem.

At the center of the request are the FBI records related to their investigation into the leaking of Hogan's sex tape, which was unsealed for Gawker at their request for the lawsuit but not released to the public.  The fact that the issues at stake in a civil court are being kept unusually private has led to a lot of question as to what is on the tapes (and what was unearthed in the FBI investigation) and why they are being so strongly protected from the public eye.  If the court agrees with the media, everything from that investigation may soon become a matter of public record - obviously a worst case scenario for Hogan.

Hogan was released from a WWE contract and scrubbed from their website in July after material from that sex tape featuring him using a racially insulting term against African-Americans leaked to the media.  Hogan in court has blamed Gawker for that leak.  Material of Hogan using a homosexual slur has also leaked but has not received as much media attention.  Hogan has apologized for using the "n" word, blaming it on his environment when he grew up and has bemoaned the fact that Vince McMahon did not personally speak to him before WWE exiled him from the company.

The civil trial over the alleged sex tape leaking is currently set for March 2016.
