CROWBAR SURGERY, NICK GAGE UPDATE, RVD VS. MORRISON FOR FIRST TIME EVER AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2015-09-14 13:14:24
Former WCW star Chris "Crowbar" Ford will be undergoing knee surgery later this week. Our best wishes to him. Certainly one of the hardest working and nicest guys ever around the business.

We already mentioned the CZW PPV situation.  Well, the promotion was dealt another blow last week when Nick Gage, who was to headline Cage of Death was taken into custody on 9/4 for a parole violation after being released earlier this year for his 2010 bank robbery conviction. There's no word on how long he'll be gone but CZW had been planning a lot of major things around him. Having spoken to Gage last month at CZW's show, I was very impressed by how far he had come personally and how positive and clear-headed he had seemed, so hearing something went wrong for him is really, really sad on a lot of levels.  I am told that nothing is set in stone in regard to his future at this point.

Luke Hawx's Wildkat Wrestling ran 9/11 in Metaire, LA at the Meisler Middle School, drawing a sellout house headlined by Wildkat Heavyweight Champion Stevie Ray defeating Sexy Chino. Steve Anthony, who's one of the best unsigned independent wrestlers around right now, defeated Sonjay Dutt. Revolution champion Bestia 666 defeated Mike Dell. Brian Kendrick was brought in as well and worked a six man tag, teaming with Bu Ku Dao (great talent) and Korey Konstantine to defeat Ricky Star & Vordell Walker & Danny Flamingo. Luke Hawx defeated Socorro via countout in the undercard. The show also featured Katie Forbes beating Robyn, The Pump Patrol defeating Jacob Diaz and Hyperstreak Greg Shark and Shane Taylor winning a three-way over Erik Lockhart and The Mysterious Q (great name) to become the top contender to the Wildkat title. Stevie Ray attacked Taylor, who was saved by the returning Matt Lancie. Lancie had been out a year after knee surgery.   For more on the promotion, visit www.WildkatSports.com.

The first ever Rob Van Dam vs. John Hennigan/Morrison match will headline the 10/24 Pro Wrestling Syndicate event in Rahway, NJ. PJ Black vs. The Amazing Red for the first time ever is also set for that show. They will be running 10/3 in Union, NJ with Brian Myers vs. Colt Cabana announced. The promotion currently has TV clearances in Philadelphia, Boston, Denver and Minneapolis.   They ran over the weekend in Brooklyn, NY at St. Patrick's Church with Taz making a rare independent appearance where he cut a quick promo.  There were a number of TNA regulars on the card and in a smart move, they were used to put over regulars.  Colt Cabana defeated TNA champ EC3, Fallah Bahh  (a big monster in the vein of Yokozuna in the 1990s WWF) defeated Abyss and Mario Bokara defeated Davey Richard.  1990s WWF star Mantaur was on the show and went to a no contest with the CPA.  PWS has some vibrant characters out of old school WWF including Habib the Car Wash Guy, The Lifeguard and Starman, based on the old wrestling videogame character.  PWS champion Dan Maff defeated Kevin Matthews in the main event while Chris Payne defeated Bonesaw and Brian Myers in a Tri Force Match to become The PWS Television Champion.  For more, visit www.ProWrestlingSyndicate.com.

New Japan star Luke Gallow's Wrestlemerica will be running 10/2 in Barnesville, GA with former WCW star Glacier, TNA's Micah, Tama Tonga, The Bullet Babe and more at the Old Academy Gym. For details, visit www.Wrestlemerica.com. The promotion has picked up a number of area stations for their local TV of late.

Jac Sabboth's Impact Championship Wrestling ran Queens, NY at Holy Cross High School over the weekend.  The show featured Tommy Dreamer vs. Chris Dickinson.  'Lil Cholo from Lucha Underground was in for the event and worked Papadon on the undercard.

CZW regular Cherry Bomb, who has also appeared in TNA, broken her collar bone on Saturday wrestling for WSU in Voorhees, NJ.
