MSG AIN’T THE EPICENTER ANY LONGER, VINCE’S CONNECTION WITH THE CROWD, RETIRING THE DIVAS TITLE AND MORE

Recently you guys did a podcast where you talked about Madison Square Garden being just another arena. I have to disagree yes I'm a native New Yorker so I may be a little biased but but since the beginning it has always been the epicenter of everything from wrestling to music to sports you name it. And If MSG was just another arena now which it will always be a very special arena, why is Vince McMahon always backstage at the MSG events even regular house shows? You don't see him backstage at a house show in Orlando Florida. But he's always backstage watching at the Garden events. When your over in New York you can be over anywhere. The Garden will always be a very special place no matter how much it's changed through the years!

MSG WAS a great building for WWE in the past. No doubt. But today, it is just another building to everyone but you New Yorkers. Vince will always have an affinity for it and keep in mind, when working in Stamford, CT it’s local to him. Other shows are not. Back in the day yes if you made it in NY you could make it anywhere. But in today’s global world, NYC isn’t the mecca that is used to be. However, if you send this to your fellow New Yorker Mike Johnson, he would agree with you a hundred percent.

So, Brock is facing off against Big Show, and we all can tell Big Show is starting to slow down a bit (not hating, dude has done so many amazing things in wrestling) but with the crowds chanting 'please retire' and the MSG facing him off against Brock, do you think this is the potential "find someone who can retire me" match to end his career or cut back a lot?  MSG would be hell of a stage to have that on.

They could, for sure. I hope they don’t though. Show still has something to offer. WWE just has to use him better. I have no problem with Brock “destroying” him to give him a break from TV but I hope they don’t give in to some vocal fans and retire the guy when he still has a lot to offer if used properly.

Is it becoming more apparent that Vince has completely lost touch with reality and the crowd?  He killed CM Punk’s momentum in 2011; he tried to kill Daniel Bryan’s until Pittsburgh; intervened; broke up the Shield too early when there was definitely more money to be made and killed the Wyatts.  Now, he’s doing the same with the women.  If Charlotte doesn’t come out and absolutely destroy Nikki Bella everything Triple H did in NXT with the women will have been for nothing.  Did he watch Takover and hear the crow for Bayley vs. Sasha?  There’s clearly a market for women who can tear it up in the ring.

In a lot of ways, yes he has. I know he is young at heart and all, but he is also 70 years old. It’s hard to understand the mind of a 20 year old when you get that old, even if you are Vince McMahon. I don’t think he is completely out of touch but he definitely doesn’t have the finger on the pulse the way that they used to.

Its well documented at this stage that HHH is all for a more significant role for the Divas, however Vince McMahon it seems, simply isn't. If the division is marketed to be a bigger attraction in the future, wouldn't it make sense to get rid of the term 'Diva' itself and have it known as the Women's Division? To coincide with this, I'd love to see that toy Divas Title trashed and replaced with something similar to the old Women's Championship.

I have said the exact same thing on the site a few times and since I agree with myself, I agree with you too! Yes, they should. Charlotte should beat Nikki Bella at Night Of Champions and rebrand it there. Plus, Nikki can be the longest running Divas champ forever, which will make her happy.

Following up on the Diva topic, do you think Vince would intentionally squash a Divas division push fearing a women's main event to end RAW or SmackDown would shine a light on a talent shortage in the men's division?

No, I don’t.
