WHAT CAN’T HEADLINE WRESTLEMANIA 32, BLAMING KEVIN DUNN, BRINGING BACK THE CURB STOMP AND MORE

Would Rock vs. Triple H headlining WrestleMania 32, as has been strongly rumoured, mark the creative demise of WWE? You will have two men well into their 40s who first wrestled on pay-per-view MORE THAN 19 YEARS EARLIER at In Your House 13 in 1997 (and who touched dating back to late 1996). All this from the same company who relentlessly bashed WCW for retreading the past. Rock will make the thing profitable, but then again, Batman Forever was a blockbuster too. Fat, balding men in suits might get a bigger swimming pool out of this, but I'm sure I saw Rock/Trips a hundred times - when it was good.

That match can not headline the show, for the reason you mentioned. It can, however, be a major attraction for the event. If they approach it like it’s the third or fourth match from the top, and make the bouts above it more attractive, it’s a win-win situation. But if they make that the main event, it’s a bad idea. You can’t put two older guys that barely wrestle over your current full time roster.

With Summerslam being positioned as the WrestleMania of the summer.  The tickets sold out in record time, do you think there's a possibility that SummerSlam will be moved to Football Stadiums in the future similar to WrestleMania?

Right now, no, I don’t think so. They can position it however they want, but the fact of the matter is it also has to be perceived that way. To me, if they want to go that route, it would make morse sense to go to one the soccer stadiums in the US that hold 25 to 30,000 fans. They should see if they could sell that out first, before moving on to the larger football stadiums.

Do you believe a big contributor to Vince's slightly delusional dream is Kevin Dunn? It's almost like he's hired to think for the fans instead of responding to what we see is entertaining. I really believe if NXT aired on USA, the viewership ratings would either wake Vince up or piss him off to where he'd pull the plug on the show.  Triple H has been outbooking him for years now, and it's starting to get annoying.

Kevin Dunn and Vince share a similar vision of what the business should be. No one thinks for Vince however. And with that said, you are taking the hardcore fan view here and not realizing that WWE is an extremely successful entity on its own. A lot of fans are of the casual variety and they appreciate things that the hardcore fans don’t. I love NXT, but there is no way it would outdraw Raw on USA. None.

Building on your answer on 8/11 about Rollins using the nose injury to win, do you think we could see the return of the Curb Stomp? If so, do you think it'd be a good move?

I would LOVE if he pulled that out on rare occasions, as it would then be booked like Undertaker’s Tombstone, you don’t see it much but when you do, it’s “deadly”.

I was watching the Beast in the East WWE special on the Network and the following question came to mind: Why have Jericho go over on Neville? They had a solid match, but the booking had me scratching my head. I get that Jericho has a history in Japan, but here was a chance to make a new guy, a talented one at that. Jericho is a part-timer who will most probably never have another prolonged WWE run, he should be putting over guys. What do you think?

I said the same exact thing at the time. I appreciate all that Jericho has done in the business but him beating Neville meant nothing while Neville beating him would have been huge. The Japanese fans would have appreciate it as well, despite their love for Jericho.
