WHY JOE CAN WORK ROH, FINN BALOR'S CHANCES ON THE MAIN ROSTER, GOLDUST AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2015-05-28 10:00:00
NXT Unstoppable was a great show, as always, but while watching, I realised that I was getting more goosebumps watching Finn Balor's entrance than I can remember for any other worker, including Undertaker. Do you think his act can translate well to the main roster, or will it be seen as a Boogeyman-style over-the-top gimmick?

I don't believe it will be seen as a one-note gimmick, because Balor isn't a gimmick performer. He can go and work with just about anyone, where someone like Boogeyman had that character built around him because it was the best way to maximize him as he was so limited in the ring. Balor isn't limited, he's without limits and is the real deal.

I know you've reported that Samoa Joe's deal with WWE is unique in that he's still working select independent dates. But I'm shocked they'd allow him to work an ROH TV taping. Do you know how this was made possible? Is there any working agreement between ROH and WWE? Or was the deal for Joes TV appearance made prior to Joe signing with WWE? Because it's something cool for fans it seems like it's something Vince would squash.

There is no agreement between WWE and Ring of Honor. Triple H has authorized a deal for Joe that allows him a lot more freedom as the two sides begin to work together. It's possible Joe will later be signed to a more traditional, restrictive deal but until then, the indies, including ROH will reap the benefits while NXT gets the additional "street credibility" of having Joe in the mix.

Could you see this possibly happening. Rusev wins the IC belt at the Elimination Chamber and then at Summerslam challenges Cena to a Unification match and finally gets his win over Cena. Rusev has been hurt quite a lot from that feud but this could be a way for him to get a bit of heat back.

It's quite possible but I don't believe that is the direction WWE is going in.

Why doesn't WWE release their theme songs on CDs anymore?

It's quite easier to release everything via iTunes.

Where's Goldust?

Goldust is out following a shoulder surgery. He isn't expected back for 5-8 months.
