NXT HEADING BACK TO CALIFORNIA, ITAMI UPDATE, NXT STARS AT SMACKDOWN AND MORE

Kevin Owens and Charlotte are backstage at tonight's WWE Smackdown taping.

Hideo Itami underwent shoulder surgery. He posted the following on Twitter:

Just a week or so after Triple H mentioned the idea of having NXT events as part of festivals, WWE announced NXT would take part in this October's Monster Energy Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, CA. The official announcement noted that Finn Balor, Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Bayley, Baron Corbin, Blake and Murphy were confirmed for the event.

Several readers sent word that the new Kevin Owens t-shirt doesn't feature any NXT branding. I don't know whether that is a message of anything or not, but it's worth mentioning.
