SECOND REPORT FROM WWE'S 5/22 HOUSE SHOW IN MANCHESTER, NH

By Matt Pearson on 2015-05-23 08:14:14

Just got back from Manchester, NH’s WWE Live. Here’s a recap for ya! Share however you’d like!

** First time back to this venue since 2013. No announcement of any future dates.

** Cena traveled by tour bus with Nikki Bella, all others by rental cars. Rusev and Lana travelled together.

** Show was 60% full, I’d say (venue advertises 11,000, I’d say a strong 6,000 were in attendance)

** Tony Chimmel announcing

** John Cena Sr was ringside

** VIP Experience padded seats looked to only have 4 ticketed customers, just going by who was sitting there.

** No Legends in the concourse (past Live events, they’ve had a legend for a meet and greet. this seemed really basic.)

** one production truck and one crew tour bus on site. Set up was Friday morning (they had hockey thurs and sat night at venue)

Preshow Twitter Tease - Primetime Players vs Bo Dallas & Heath Slater in either a basic tag-team match, or a dance off.

Match One: Neville def. King Barrett
Barrett came out with mic to degrade the crowd and issued an open challenge to the back, out came Neville.

Match Two: Luke Harper (with Eric Rowan) def. Zack Ryder
Harper defeated Ryder, then both double teamed Ryder to add insult to injury.

Match Three: Prime Time Players def. Bo Dallas and Heath Slater
Twitter tease was announced as a tag team match. Great aggressive offense by PTP, most hard impact match on the night, I thought), PTP defeated the duo, then Heath yelled at Bo, they argued, and Bo Dallas “quit” his band.

Heath said he doesn’t need anyone, and issued an open challenge to anyone in the back.

cue Axelmania.

Match Four: Axelmania ran wild for an impromptu match with Slater; Axel def. Slater with all the signature moves.

Match Five: Dean Ambrose def. Kane by pinfall.
I thought this match was advertised elsewhere as a streetfight, but here, it was a pinfall match.

Intermission

Match Six: Divas Championship Nikki Bella def. Tamina
Nikki Bella gave John Cena Sr a friendly hug ringside on her way in.

Match Seven: New Day def. Tyson Kidd/Cesaro with Natalia with interference by Kofi when ref wasn’t looking.
Both with some mic work before the match; New Day got cut off by the sirens, and they talked for a little while before things got started.
After the match, Natalia slapped Kofi, Cesaro swung Kofi, and the good guys music played. Big E carried Xavier and Kofi over his shoulder to the back.

Match Eight: John Cena def. Rusev in a Steel Cage
Match started; they were going for pinfalls, too, which I was confused about; only way to win was over the top or through the door, right? Oh well.
John got upper hand when ref got bumped and Rusev tapped to the STFU with no Ref in sight.
Rusev got upper hand when Lana came down ringside with a big smile on her face and big cheers, stared for a while, then punched the doorkeeper ref, slammed the door on Cena and walked with a smirk to the back.
John wins when he climbs over the top quicker than Rusev crawled out the door a few minutes later.

Confused about Lana – is that where they’re going with the angle?

Cena spent plenty of time ringside with the kids.
