ELIZABETH NOT GOING INTO THE WWE HALL, RIKISHI-TOO COOL, AUSTIN AT WRESTLEMANIA AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2015-04-04 10:00:00
How is it that Alundra Blaze makes the HOF before Miss Elizabeth?? Especially the year that Randy Savage goes in? I mean the threw away a wwf title in the trash can on the competition's show. Not saying she doesn't desirve to be in, but not before Miss Elizabeth. Thoughts?

Blayze was inducted because the company wanted to induct her. With all due respect to Elizabeth, it was Savage's year and didn't mean she, Angelo Poffo or Lanny Poffo had to go in. It's possible her family wants nothing to do with a Hall of Fame induction. We don't know the story and honestly, if she was still alive, I am sure Elizabeth would already be in. Unfortunately, she isn't and she's not...yet.

Have you heard any reason why Rikishi failed to mention Too Cool during his HoF speech? I enjoyed the speech but felt this was a major slight. He owes those guys a lot for the dancing gimmick.

There was some scuttlebutt that Too Cool and Rikishi had a personal falling out while working the independents, but beyond that, no real explanation. I agree that it wasn't cool not to mention them. That trio set the stage for Rikishi's biggest run.

Why has WWE management cooled on long-term plans with Sting? It seems like everything he's done has been received extremely well. The only negative I've seen is the dumb decision to have him lose his first WWE match.

I think it's that the company saw him more of a nostalgia attraction then as a new full-time player. My gut is we'll see him a few more times in the ring (and the original plan when he came in was to end this run with Undertaker) but it's all in WWE's hands. Sting is ready if they want him but it's entirely possible we just saw his retirement match.

All the prognosticators, including all three of you and people like Lance Storm, seemed certain Sting see was going to beat HHH. No offense, but wasn't that really naive thinking? Of course it would have been the smart thing to do (with Ric Flair's help to offset Michaels), but when has Vince ever done the smart thing when it comes to anything WCW-related? Imagine the pop from the crowd if Flair had nailed HHH with a chair or something to give Sting the win. What a waste of an opportunity.

It wasn't naive. It really made no sense to bring in Sting and build him, only to have him lose his first match in. Of course, that line of thinking would assume that WWE wants him in on a regular basis. As of now, that is not the case.

How do you know WWE intended for Steve Austin to be at Wrestlemania last weekend?

WWE sources indicate the company had travel set up for Austin to bring him from Texas to California and also had a locker room space for him set aside backstage at Wrestlemania. That means they intended for him to come to the event. Austin never flew in and when he didn't arrive, it was a topic of conversation within the company. As we've covered in the Elite section, all signs are this was due to a falling out between the two sides.
