SHOULD MICHAELS AND FLAIR HAVE LOST RETIREMENT BOUTS TO ELEVATE TALENTS INSTEAD, WWE STARS ON NBC TALK SHOWS, GOLDUST VS. STARDUST AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2015-03-28 10:00:00
With the synergy between the WWE and NBCUniversal, how come WWE Wrestlers(with the exception of the Rock) have not yet been featured on the Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers?

I suspect it's just a matter of timing. Jimmy Fallon is a big wrestling fan who has had WWE personalities on his incarnation of "Late Night."

After going to WM 29, id have to say my favorite part was the fan Axxess Now that Summerslam is coming to Brooklyn I was really excited and hoping to have some type of Axxess again. Have you heard if WWE is planning anything for fans like they did in LA past few years? I really want another Axxess experience this summer! Thanks

WWE has traditionally done AXXESS but didn't do it this past year. I suspect they will bring it back for the Summerslam weekend as the plan was to do all sorts of events around the NYC/NJ area, but I haven't heard anything concrete yet.

y heart goes out to the family of El Hijo Del Perro Aguayo R.I.P. I have 3 questions about that: 1. Will Rey Mysterio be held liable? 2. What do you think would have happened if Rey was still working for WWE & this would have happened either on a PPV or during RAW? & 3. Why the hell didn't they stop the match?

Rey should not be held liable, nor will he. It was just a sad, sad accident. They didn't stop the match because in the heat of the moment, they didn't realize what exactly happened. As I wrote previously, had Aguayo just dropped down, they would have been immediately aware. Since he went down into position to hang on the ropes for the 619, that led to some confusion as to what exactly happened. I don't believe for a second that Konnan would have shook him, much less moved him, if he realized what happened. As far as what would have happened in a WWE ring, I think the medical staff would have ran in immediately the second they saw someone was unresponsive, exactly the way they did when Jerry Lawler had his heart attack. This was a freak, sad accident. My heart goes out to everyone involved.

Evening guys. You seem to get a few questions on whether taker losing to brock was the right move. I've seen Flair retire to HBK, HBK retire to taker and it got me wondering. I believe these 2 guys could not have lost to another guy and it had the same effect. Now i ask you a genuine question. Could HBK, Flair and Taker have lost to a Ziggler (I'm using him as an example but please insert anyone in here, you now the type of guy i mean) and actually made that guy? I'm torn when thinking about this. I automatically assume (wrongly) that the Ziggler could never have had that level of match on the night (and the associated hype) that would make the event feel special. The loss needed to feel special as a fan for me. So the question. For an event like that, is it the superstar opponent that makes the end feel special or the match and hype? Could a ziggler pull off an HBK/Flair/End of streak style match and actually be accepted afterwards. Basically if Ziggler and HBK have the WM26 match, does it go down as well?

It's possible Michaels and Flair losing to others would have elevated someone, but in the case of Flair, he couldn't have had a better sendoff with anyone else. It was the rare case of perfection. Michaels losing to Taker made sense for the storyline and in the end, Michaels was the one who really called the shots there. If it was up to WWE, he'd have been back in the ring within six months. So, you can't criticize Michaels for deciding he was done because he would never touch upon the perfection of the Wrestlemania 25 bout ever again.

If Stardust is going to be in the IC Championship ladder match at Wrestlemania, where does that leave his feud with Goldust? I thought they were building up to Goldust vs. Stardust at Wrestlemania.

That was the original plan but WWE changed direction. We still aren't clear why. It leaves Goldust in the Andre Battle Royal and beyond that, pretty direction-less. He is scheduled for events post-Mania, so we will see if they heat up the feud again once we get past tomorrow's PPV.
