NXT VS. THE INDEPENDENTS, REPEAT WWE HOF INDUCTIONS, BALOR DREAM FEUD AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2015-03-19 10:00:00
With the subject of WWE Hall of Fame headliners running thin I always thought about this. What are your thoughts on re-inducting past names that were inducted but not in the recent years where it was televised. Even someone who's deceased like Andre the Giant could be honoured on a bigger stage. I do also believe eventually someone like a Bret Hart could be inducted with Jim Neidhart as Hart Foundation, HBK with Janetty as Rockers and so on similar to Ric Flair and the 4 Horsemen.

I think in some cases, we will see that happen, but I'd personally prefer those to be rare cases, because I don't think we need to see Bret Hart or Ric Flair inducted three of five times. It would just become something completely silly at that point and the Hall should be presented as something prestigious.

There are lots of talk about the WM main event Reigns will be booed while Brock will be seen as the face. However, I don't get it. WM crowd is known to be smart fans around the world who travelled to the event. Wouldn't the IWC know Brock is considering leaving WWE to return to MMA? It's also known Brock was at RAW and went home unhappy without appearing as advertised. From what I've seen the online fan respects people who are loyal to pro wrestling and I think Brock could be booed just for thinking about leaving.

One, we don't know Brock is leaving yet. Two, the fans who attend are going to prefer the bigger ass-kicker and that's Brock. Three, we really won't know until we get there next Sunday. I don't foresee the audience turning on Brock, but it's possible.

I read where Matt Hardy had signed a contract with TNA. Any interest in signing Reby Sky as well? I know she appeared in one of the Knockouts One Night Only pay per views.

It could happen but I don't think it will happen anytime soon. As we've mentioned here on the site, Sky is pregnant right now. That's not really conducive to taking bumps!

Dream feud for Finn Balor once he's called up to the main roster?

Daniel Bryan would be cool...

I've been watching old episodes of Raw from the mid-90's with the Billionaire Ted skits. In the skits, they were mocking Hogan's age and taking shots at his prominent role in WCW. For someone that "old", WWE seemed to have no problem bringing him back in 2002-2003 and placing him in main event feuds with The Rock, Triple H, and Undertaker AND having him win the WWE title. A little hypocritical calling someone senial, a hasbeen, and a geezer, and then hiring them seven years later, isn't it?

Of course it was, but the WWE of the mid-1990s was in a desperate place and was trying anything to win the War. When Hogan returned, the war was won and Hogan was humbled...and to make money, WWE presented him as the homecoming hero. Both choices were, as much as I hate this phrase, the best for business at the time.

Everyone, even Vince McMahon, would agree it has damaged the business by running all the other territories and companies out of business. Why, then, is NXT seemingly about to try to run all the indies out of business? I get that they want the NXT talent to raise their game through competition, but why not help those other talent breeding grounds at the same time instead of taking them on?

It would be too complicated to "take on" all those other independents, plus it would leave WWE open to too many issues as they'd never be able to police everyone involved and as a public company, odds are sooner or later, something embarrassing would happen. I don't know that WWE is trying to run every independent out of business, but certainly, they are going to try and raise the profile of NXT and that's going to mean running the same market as some of these indy companies.
