BILL DEMOTT RESPONDS TO ALLEGATIONS

By Mike Johnson on 2015-03-13 10:10:27

Bill DeMott who recently resigned from WWE following growing allegations regarding his treatment of WWE developmental talents in the past as well as his conduct while working for the company, took to Twitter overnight to respond to comments made to him, writing, "I have got it figured out, IF you write it is must be the truth! And IF you can add or comment it must make it more truthful!"

This led to DeMott responding to fans who were Tweeting him about some of the allegations.

In response to Dr. Tom Prichard's rant about his own lack of satisfaction into WWE's investigation into the claims, DeMott wrote, "I've said it before and still stands, I've never had an issue with Tom and everyone has an opinion."

When asked about the infamous photo of two named wrestlers in the ring with one giving the other a Stinkface that shows DeMott at ringside at the now-defunct Deep South Wrestling training facility - then a WWE developmental territory, DeMott denied he was responsible for the scene, writing, "NO! That decision was made by 30 talent trying to NOT train on a Friday back in 2006."

In response to allegedly calling Colt Cabana a Jewish slur, DeMott wrote that he "wasn't surprised" to hear that Cabana was speaking out (Cabana commented on his latest podcast at ColtCabana.com and spoke of his own experiences in developmental, but did not name what trainer he was speaking about) and followed up with, "I get that anyone can say what they want on social media, however if you knew me or anything about me you would know that would never come out of my mouth."

DeMott also responded to one fan, writing, "I am neither racist or homophobic."

DeMott resigned from WWE last week amid growing accusations about his conduct, physical and verbal, towards then-developmental talents. While WWE announced they had conducted an investigation into the accusations when they first arose privately several years ago, a number of leaked letters that were then sent to WWE Talent Relations as well as claims by one of the talents mentioned, Ryan Nemeth, that he was never spoken to by anyone in WWE, as well as claims by one of the complaining wrestlers, Austin Matelson that his confidential letter led to him being left alone in a room with DeMott, forcing him to back down on his claims, fueled the ire of fans on social media against DeMott.

Since his departure, DeMott has turned down media requests to speak about the situation. His Twitter comments mark the first time he has openly responded to any of the allegations publicly.
