2/27 NEW JAPAN PRO WRESTLING IN OKINAWA REPORT & MORE

By Matthew Macklin on 2015-02-27 16:04:23

New Japan Road February 27th results:

*Sho Tanaka defeated Yohei Komatsu. Nothing out of the ordinary or that we haven't seen before. Tanaka won with a modified Boston Crab.

*Manabu Nakanishi & KUSHIDA defeated Jado & Gedo. There was a lot of comedy in this revolving around Jado's Flair flop. Jado really shouldn't be in the ring any more. He looks stiff, awkward and in pain. Nakanishi isn't much better, but he got the win over Jado with the Argentine Backbreaker.

*Tiger Mask IV & Satoshi Kojima defeated Jushin Thunder Liger & Hiroyoshi Tenzan. Tag team partners swapped here as the two NWA champions teamed up to take on their next challengers. This was a fun short match with Tiger pinning Liger with a crucifix pin. Tiger challenges Liger on the Road to Invasion Attack tour. No official announcement of Tenzan vs. Kojima yet, but it is more than likely coming soon.

*Katsuyori Shibata & Hirooki Goto (Meiyu Tag) defeated Captain New Japan & Yuji Nagata. Shibata & Nagata love hitting each other very hard. Shibata also loves to slap Captain very hard. Shibata got the win after an Ushikiroshi backbreaker from Goto and a PK.

*Kazuchika Okada & YOSHI-HASHI defeated Ryusuke Taguchi & Tetsuya Naito. This was a really fun match. YOSHI & Naito always have great chemistry, but the last few minutes between Taguchi and Okada were great! Taguchi got in some convincing near falls before Okada got the win with The Rainmaker.

*Shinsuke Nakamura, Tomohiro Ishii & Toru Yano defeated Tomoaki Honma, Togi Makabe & Hiroshi Tanahashi. This was the usual action packed house show main event. Ishii & Honma reprised their chop battle, Nakamura & Tanahashi went at it, Makabe & Ishii hit each other hard, Honma missed Kokeshi's and hit Kokeshi's, Yano did his usual comedy stuff and Nakamura kneed people. Nakamura pinned Honma after two Boma Ye's.

NJPW are back on March 5th with the first round of the New Japan Cup. I'll have a preview soon.

It was also announced today that NJPW would be coming to Singapore for a show in June. Last year NJPW ran shows in Taiwan. Thanks to Jose Gonzales.
