WHY JON STEWART IS DOING RAW, REY-WWE, IS TNA DEAD IN THE WATER (AND HOW DO THEIR WRESTLERS FEEL ABOUT IT) AND MUCH MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2015-02-27 10:00:00
Is Samoa Joe signed back to Ring of Honor full-time?

No, Joe is signed to appear on a certain amount of dates, similar to how Alberto el Patron is. He's not currently locked in on an exclusive contract, say, how the Briscoes are. That could happen conceivably, but that's not where things stand as of today.

Why didn't WWE announce Rey Mysterio was released?

He wasn't released. Although that story is floating around, we are told that Mysterio's contract has officially expired. WWE officially told us, on record, that he's no longer under contract. It's possible they are going to dump an official announcement on their website on Friday so it's out of the cycle by the end of the weekend.

Why in the world would Jon Stewart lower himself to do WWE?

Likely the same reason he sat first row at a WWE PPV in Boston a few years ago with his children - he's a lifelong fan. Stewart has had Mick Foley on The Daily Show numerous times and makes wrestling references regularly - he mentioned Rusev defeating John Cena just this past Monday. To Stewart, he isn't lowering himself - he's just jumping into a world he personally enjoys.

Is it me or is TNA dead in the water? No live events. No ratings. No live programming. If I am a TNA wrester, I have to be pissed, right?

If they were dead in the water, there would be no company left breathing, but obviously TNA is hurting compared to where they were even a few years ago. The years of mismanagement and just barely hitting their mark are catching up to them and it's obvious they are in regroup mode. Although the TV shows are solid, it's certainly hard to get excited for something that feels like there's no upward mobility, especially when you see names that defined TNA exiting the company. It's going to be a rebuilding process that takes place over years as there's not going to be a magic talent acquisition or even a magic angle that turns things around, so TNA is say, drawing 5,000 for a major event by December. It could be this is where TNA is forever as well. There's no way to tell. As far as the wrestlers, I'd agree there's some resentment over the fact that TNA isn't running more and giving them more work, but by the same token, none of them had to agree to new deals if they didn't want them, so that blame has to be evenly balanced. Hopefully TNA finds their way out of the fog.

Why does Tyson Kidd always call Bret Hart his Uncle?

It's a line that either parodying Teddy Hart or just being done to get heat by being a ridiculous liar.
