WWE MAIN EVENT UPDATE [SECOND UPDATE]

By Mike Johnson on 2015-01-15 17:35:27
In regard to questions we've received from PWInsider.com readers, WWE Main Event being preempted from the WWE Network will not just be a one week occurrence.

Sources indicate that the series will be discontinued from the WWE Network until contractual issues are resolved.

As we noted yesterday, Sky in Great Britain has the exclusive rights for the series in that market and with the Network launching in Ireland and The UK, WWE was forced to pull the series.

Sources indicate that the company is working on having it's programming geo-blocked but that won't be available until late summer or early fall. Once they are able to geo-block, the series will return to the Network and be blocked in the markets where there is a contractual issue.

WWE Main Event does also stream on Hulu Plus, so it's possible that fans in the United States and other markets will be able to continue watching the series via that streaming service. PWInsider.com is seeking to confirm that as of this writing, but the 1/13 episode of the series is currently available on that platform. [Update 9:30 PM EST - We have confirmed the series will continue to be available on Hulu Plus.]
