WHAT WILL MAKE TNA SUCCESSFUL FOR DESTINATION AMERICA, ITAMI USING THE GTS AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2015-01-10 10:00:15
Why do we continue to see Hideo Itami going for the Go To Sleep and never pull it off? Does WWE still have hope of Punk returning and don't want the move to be used by someone else? Or is it more so to avoid any talk of CM Punk?

Hideo used ther GTS well before CM Punk ever did in Japan, so it may be they are teasing it to build to him eventually using it. Punk has been gone almost a year, so the move is obviously up for grabs.

I know that TNA isn't going to draw the numbers it did on Spike. Give that Destination America is a fairly unknown channel, TNA has to be the highest rated show on the network. What would their rating have to be in order to be considered a success/failure?

I was told that the Wednesday broadcast was the highest rated thing for Destination America ever on a Wednesday. For TNA to be successful for the network, they need to bring the Network numbers that make it's overall average rise. They were brought in to help the Network. That's what they need to do.

Do you guys have any update on Bo Dallas? He was supposed to be out 6-8 weeks, and they're up now but I can't find anything about his return online.

When Dallas was injured, we reported he was expected out until December or January, so my guess is they are holding him out until The Royal Rumble. We'll have to see.

Can you explain the WWE's decision to move Lawler to Smackdown? Lawler isn't as good as he once was, but he's miles above Booker T. The Jan. 5 episode is all the proof you need. Matt Striker or Josh Matthews would've been better choices, but they ran them off. Or Alex Riley, William Regal, Christian...

They wanted Booker on Raw. That's the bottom line.

Do you expect NXT Championship matches to start becoming a regular match at WWE PPV's in the future? It would create a bigger buzz for NXT and WWE. Vince and/or HHH could entertain the idea of NXT Championship matches at the Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, Summerslam, and Survivor Series in the future. I was wondering what are your thoughts on the idea?

I have no problem with the idea but my guess is that they will keep the championship bouts on the NXT broadcasts so that they can be a draw for the WWE Network.

So, the Brits should have Network any second. Of course 9.99 pound is rather more than 9.99 US$ but hey, Vince is trying to make side deals and failing. So what's the word on the #2 market, Canada. Any chance we can get Network in less than 9 more years when this fiasco with Rogers runs out?

There is always a chance, but the reality is that they have a deal with Rogers and any other Canadian carriers that want the Network will have to go through them.
